Description
2 Bedroom Vacation Rental in Bedford Stuyvesant (NY-15678)
2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom - Sleeps 6

Bedford-Stuyvesant beckons you with this fully furnished two bedroom apartment in a charming three story townhouse built in the 19th century. This neighborhood is in the central portion of Brooklyn, NYC and the apartment is situated on the top floor (considered second by Europeans), allowing it to have a skylight! You will love the charm of the building entry and stairway with its historic detailed moldings.

This apartment features hardwood floors throughout most of the rooms as well as ceiling fans to help circulate the air, a great plus during the hotter months of the year. The living room has two northern exposed windows overlooking the backyard, a full size sofa bed for additional sleeping arrangement, and a TV with basic cable access for your entertainment. You will appreciate the southern exposure of bedroom #1 allowing for plenty of light to brighten the large space (250 SQM or approximately 23 SQM). Though the apartment has been renovated, this bedroom kept some prewar charm with its wood floors and decorative fireplace. Bedroom #2 is simply furnished with a full size bed and a northern exposed window. Another great thing about this apartment is the open space between the living area and the kitchen, allowing for you to chat your roommates, family or guests while cooking. The tiled kitchen is nicely equipped with the necessities to cook your meals at home, including coffee maker and toaster. The bathroom is also tiled and has a bathtub/shower and a skylight to brighten the space.

Please note that this historic apartment has a unique layout, where the smaller bedroom (#2) is only accessible by walking through the master bedroom (#1). Additionally the bathroom is ensuite to the master bedroom, therefore all guests must walk through this bedroom to access it.

To make your stay in Bed-Stuy even more convenient, the owner of the building will be happy to provide you with maps, neighborhood tips and recommendations. Here you can discover historical New York in this neighborhood full of beautiful brownstone townhouses that contribute to Bedford-Stuyvesant's growing popularity and charm. This two bedroom apartment is located at Greene Avenue & Sumner Avenue, two blocks away from the Herbert Von King Park, a great place to relax. A large variety of bakeries, boutiques, galleries and wine bars have opened up in the area, which is now home to over ten Zagat rated restaurants that serve food for all tastes. If you prefer to cook at home, you can find an Associated supermarket (0.2mi) four blocks away. Bordering Bedford-Stuyvesant to the south, Crown Heights neighborhood offers a different range of food shops and restaurants and hosts free concerts in the summer at Brower Park (1.3mi).

To commute to other parts of New York City, this location offers a lot of options. The J train at the Kosciuszko Street / Broadway station (0.8mi) runs to lower Manhattan, east to Brooklyn and Queens. To go to Midtown Manhattan, take the M line at the Myrtle Avenue / Broadway station (0.8mi) that runs to Manhattan via 6th Avenue, passed Bryant Park and the Rockefeller Center.

Good choice of rental. Great value for money. Owner friendly and honest. Peace and plenty of police presence. Cozy and clean floor. Metro stations a 15 minute walk. Good communication with any part of NYC.

Metro and bus to JFK. $ 40 cab to JFK. I would rent it if returned to NYC. Ideal for couples with one or two children. Comfortable beds.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Nice place and very nice owners. I would recommend this place to friends. The only issue was that the sounds coming from the streets were loud on weekend nights, which didn't bother us too much, but may bother some people.

However this is probably not unusual around the N.Y. area!

We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay. During the summer or periods of nice weather there is sometimes an increase in outdoor traffic on the weekends. At these times you may finding neighbors entertaining guests in their yards.

On weekends their is likely to be more foot and vehicle traffic which may contribute to brief periods of noise. The sounds can be muffled if the windows are shut and fans or air conditioners are used to keep cool.

I'm not a Native New Yorker, so I understand that it takes a little getting used to the sounds of the city!
