Ideally situated in Washington Heights, this room for rent is in a shared apartment in a beautiful neighborhood just down the street from Fort Tyron Park, just blocks from the Hudson River and an express subway train. The shared two-bedroom apartment is on the 3rd floor of a 7-story elevator building with many amenities. You won't find many prewar buildings in New York City that have a gym (available for an additional fee), on-site laundry facilities, and a terrace. There is a video surveillance system and a security guard that patrols the buildings in the complex, and an intercom for guests.
Enjoy this self-contained bedroom, which includes a mini-refrigerator, a desk, a dresser, an armchair and of course a bed! A second single size bed can be added to accommodate a second person. There is a small television with cable for entertainment, and a larger one can be provided upon request. Plug-in Internet access is available and an air conditioning unit cools the space to get you through New York's hot summers. Extra touches like stained glass lamps and display shelving make the space unique, and highlight the high ceilings.
The kitchen, living room and bathroom are shared with the roommate, who occupies the other bedroom. The kitchen, with stainless steel appliances and counters, is open the living room, and is fully equipped for cooking.
This apartment is on Fort Washington Avenue, across from Fort Tyron Park in Washington Heights. Head to the park and stroll on the paths that run alongside the Hudson River, or walk up to the Cloisters, a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art that exhibits Medieval art and architecture in authentic abbeys shipped from France. For your daily needs, there are convenience shops and restaurants further south down Fort Washington Avenue, and even more 2 blocks west on Broadway. When you want to get to the rest of Manhattan, there is an express A train just half a block away, which takes you to Midtown in only 6 stops.
