Ninth Avenue to the North is the home of many original produce, meat/poultry and Italian bakeries and delis for the gourmet cook while to the South is the Chelsea district with colorful Eighth Avenue and its restaurants and shops, alongside the new gallery area to the West. Most uptown and downtown galleries have new branches or have relocated to that area.
