Studio in the East Village
Location: In New York City's East Village, bordering Noho. 1st Street Between 1st and 2nd avenues.

Size: Approximately 300 square foot studio with kitchenette, private bath, sleeps 2 adults.

Building: Borders the East Village and Noho. The apartment is on the 2nd floor of this turn of the century walkup. The building is located on 1st street in a buzzing, exciting area surrounded by excellent restaurants, shops, and entertainment. The street is very popular and active, especially on the weekends. A security camera monitors the front door 24 hours a day.

Interior: This could be the most unique studio apartment in the area. A Wallpaper Magazine photo shoot come to life, the intimate, cozy space combines the warm comfort of a 70's ski lodge with the swank cool of a bamboo-infused bachelor pad. Recently renovated during August of '02, this spotless apartment boasts unique retro furnishings, full carpeting and warm, comfortable lighting and A/C. A full-size sofa bed rests in the rear of the room, with ample lighting for reading, as well as a small end table. The centerpiece of this room is a mid-century modern-design decorative fireplace. A stereo and television are provided for your entertainment. There is one closet as well as cabinets for storage, and clean linens and towels in a small closet off the bathroom. The blue lagoon bathroom includes a bathtub with shower. The kitchen is separated from the main room by a screen and is equipped with an electric stove and small refrigerator. Please note that the heating system is radiator steam replete with occasional clanging when in use during the cold season.

Neighborhood: New York City's East Village is one of the most vibrant, lively areas in the city. Fantastic restaurants, shops, cafes and entertainment line every street, waiting to be discovered and enjoyed. Menus, maps and guidebooks are provided for your information. The apartment has five of the best restaurants in New York directly across the street: Chez Es Saada, Prune, The Elephant, Smith and The Tasting Room. On this block there is a popular restaurant/club "Star 64" where you can eat Cuban food and have a free Salsa dance class on Thursdays. The nightlife is very lively and it can get noisy, especially on weekends, but it is a lot of fun. Your shopping itch is scratched by boutiques offering anything and everything: eclectic fashions, the best independent bookstores, funky record stores, antiques and kitschy ephemera. One block away is the famous Noho/Soho shopping and design district. The popular Ludlow street is less than five minutes on foot. At the end of the block is First Park, including a new outdoor café that is perfect for relaxing and people-watching. The best areas of lower New York are within easy walking distance, including Greenwich Village, Washington Square Park, Astor Place and Union Square Park. Entertainment is everywhere, including live music, movies and clubs. All in all, the East Village provides the true New York experience.

Others: All public transportation is easily accessed from the block. The subway F line has entrances on both corners of the block, and subway stations for the 6 line are less than five minutes on foot. Bus stops are on both corners of the block, and taxis can be easily hailed at any time of the day or night.

RESTRICTION: NO SMOKING ALLOWED IN THE APARTMENT

The apartment we stayed at in NoHo, Manhattan was conveniently located, close to a subway station and nearby food hall.
The apartment we stayed at in NoHo, Manhattan was conveniently located, close to a subway station and nearby food hall. The owner made us very welcome and provided us with lots of useful advice. Even though the vacation rental is located in a busy part of NoHo, it was very comfortable.

The apartment is clean, cosy and homey. The location is the biggest plus. So many NYC attractions are in walking distance
Our stay in the apartment on E. 1st St. was just perfect. We enjoyed ourselves in this space very much. The vacation rental is clean, cosy and homey. The location is the biggest plus. So many NYC attractions are in walking distance and the nightlife is literally around the corner. The owner was very nice. He gave us a warm welcome, checked on us during our stay, answered all our questions and gave us insider tips. So all in all a perfect stay. Thank you!

We really enjoyed this vacation in the East Village.
We really enjoyed this vacation in the East Village. We had a very good contact with our host who was present at arrival time and let us live in the apartment really as if it was ours. This vacation rental is absolutely charming with it 70's decoration and the environment is very quiet except the bars around, but we knew it and accepted it. We recommend it for a real stay in the heart of Manhattan, far from the touristic ways. We shall recommend your services to anyone who wants to [really enjoy] NYC.

My wife [...] and I loved the apartment the retro design and especially its location between the East Village, Lower East Side
My wife [...] and I loved the apartment the retro design and especially its location between the East Village, Lower East Side, etc. - really a vibrant and exciting place with fabulous bars and restaurants, 10/10. The nocturnal noise, and there was some, only added to our appreciation of the place. If there is one complaint, and I hesitate in saying this, because we really loved the vacation rental and its eclectic furnishings and lighting system, is the bed it could really do with a rethink it was like sleeping in a hammock. It isn't flat. As an ageing deluxe retro sofa-bed, it could really do with some structural engineering, i.e. The springs being re-sprung, or a board put underneath the mattress by no means dispensing with it, as it is in keeping with the design of the apartment. If I had time I would have told the owner myself when we parted, without troubling you, and I want to stress that overall our stay was delightful in every way apart from this, yet I fear other clients will feel more perturbed by this aspect of the visitor experience.

The location is close to a subway-station and the neighbourhood is friendly and bourgeois, hence easy going. The next visit to New York we definitely will book this [apartment] again.
