2 bedroom House in the countryside of Aix en Provence, near the Sainte-Victoire Moutain
|
This villa is located about 12 kilometers east from the famous city of Aix en Provence, near the village of Vauvenargues. The house is approximately 65 sqm and can accommodate 4 people. This accommodation is available for weekly rentals throughout the year, or during off-peak season, on a monthly basis. Pets are not allowed. The house is contiguous to the owners' house in case you need anything.
There are two entrances to enter the villa and two terraces, a first one with due south exposed and a second one on the eastern part of the villa. Trees and a pergola shade those terraces. Outside is a dining table seating 4-6 and garden furniture.
On the garden level is a living room with a large sofa, a working fireplace, and a TV. A dining area has a round table seating 4-6 as well as an open kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with 2 electric and 2 gas burners, a coffee maker, a toaster and a refrigerator.
A spiral staircase leads upstairs. One of the bedrooms has a double size bed and the second one, two twin beds. Those two rooms have a full-length window looking onto the garden and the Sainte-Victoire Mountain.
The bathroom is actually not really separated, but at the very end of the hallway. There is a washbasin with mirror and a large stall shower. Toilet is separated. There is a washing machine in the toilet. A large store room upstairs can be used for luggage or as a dressing. For short-term rentals, linens can be provided.
The house is located in the countryside, 2 kilometers from Vauvenargues, so you will definitely need a car. There are parking spaces at the entrance of the property. From the property, you have a wonderful view of the Sainte-Victoire Mountain (that drew famous painter Cézanne a century ago) which culminating at 1,011 meters. It is also the landscape of other famous painters such as Picasso who came here to capture the extraordinary light and color of the region. Indeed, Pablo Picasso bought and lived in a castle located by the village of Vauvenargues. The artist was actually buried there. But the castle is unfortunately not open to visits.
Aix en Provence itself has a wealthy historical and artistic heritage. The historic center hosts many private mansions and monuments. Aix also has the most important courthouse in the region.
The property is only 5-10 minutes drive from the main road connections such as A8 (Aix-Nice Highway). The Marseille-Provence International Airport and the TGV Mediterranean train station (Aix-Les-Miles station) are about half an hour drive away.
