About: Hackney - East End
The London Borough of Hackney is located northeast of the City of London. Hackney Central is the central district of Hackney, once known as Hackney Village. It is home to Hackney Town Hall Square, Hackney Museum and Hackney Empire, the theatre and music hall which has hosted many celebrities including Charlie Chaplin. There are twenty- five conservation areas in the London Borough of Hackney which include some Victorian and Georgian housing areas. Some other great attractions in Hackney making it a good location for a vacation rental are the Arcola Theatre, The Circus Space (Circus School), the Geffrye Museum, Hoxton Hall, Sutton House and the Victoria Miro Gallery.
Bethnel Green underground station is located in the southern section of Hackney and the London Overground lines transverse the borough.
The East End of London, which is east of the City of London and north of the River Thames, is home to many art galleries making it a great vacation area. These include the Whitechapel Gallery and the White Cube Gallery. The East End of London can be accessed by many railway lines including the East Line which runs north to south through East London, the Docklands Light Rail running towards Canary and beyond and the District and Metropolitan and City Lines which cuts through the northern part of the East End.
The area of Hackney - East End will continue to in gain popularity as the 2012 Olympics will be held just to the east of these neighborhoods. The area offers a residential feel and easy access to the rest of London and is a great choice to rent a vacation rental apartment.
