Description
3 Bedroom Apartment Rental in Prospect Heights (NY-12445)
3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms - Sleeps

This three bedroom apartment is located in the Prospect Heights neighborhood in Brooklyn. The apartment is on the second floor of a walk-up building with a buzzer/intercom system. This apartment benefits from double exposure, with Bedrooms 1 and 2 with windows that face southwards towards a garden and the living room and Bedroom 3 looking north giving a view of Brooklyn streets.

The 3 bedrooms are all fully furnished and decorated in different styles. Bedroom 1 offers a queen sized bed while Bedrooms 2 and 3 contain a double size bed. Please note that Living Room 2 can function as a private sleeping room with a double sized futon. The two bathrooms are almost identical with white furniture set against real marble floors and walls. The living room with two comfortable sofas makes for a perfect place to relax with your family. The dining table seats six people and is conveniently situated right next to the open kitchen, cheerful with its cherry-red cabinets. Art can be found throughout the apartment with paintings even decorating the hall.

The apartment is sited on Underhill Avenue & Prospect Place in a green neighborhood where trees line the streets. Furthermore, Prospect Park with the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Prospect Park Zoo is only five blocks away. There are two subway stops nearby the apartment where you can easily catch a train to Manhattan: three blocks from the apartment there is Seventh Avenue station where you can take the B or Q train, and two blocks further there is Grand Army Plaza where you can catch the 2 or 3 train. But you might not even feel the need to leave Prospect Heights as there is so much to see and do. The neighborhood is famous for its classic brownstone buildings and among other things, the Brooklyn Museum, which is the second largest art collection in New York City. Also in this part of Brooklyn you will find the Fort Greene – Clinton Hill neighborhoods, known for their up-and-coming restaurant scenes.

Apartment Rental: 2 months

This apartment was perfect for our needs - we are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids), that needed a place to stay for 2 months while our home was being renovated. We really enjoyed the apartment and would gladly stay there again.
We really appreciated these aspects of the place and location:
The size of the apartment. Each kid had a bedroom and the master bedroom was large. The living room was cozy and there was a large, round dining table that comfortably could seat 6 people. Having two full bathrooms was also a big help.
A very well-stocked kitchen with a large collection of utensils, pots and pans, etc.
Great neighborhood! We knew Vanderbilt already but was a welcome surprise to discover a number of interesting restaurants on Washington Ave (check out the burgers at Stocked...)
Nice neighbors (including the owner) that were always friendly, but never intrusive.
Strong, reliable WiFi. We were able to work from home with no issues.
Very little street noise.
Minor negatives:
Street parking in the neighborhood was really tough.
Laundry is in the basement, not the unit.
Counter space in the kitchen is limited, but not a big deal since the dining table is right next to the kitchen.

Mike and Paula and their children were great guests! They were very friendly, clean, quiet, and easy to communicate and coordinate with. I'm glad that they got to know and enjoy our neighborhood.

re: the negatives:
Yeah, street parking isn't great, but both my brother and I are able to keep our cars on the street.
We're working on installing a washer and dryer in the apartment. That seems to be more complicated than it should be. On the upside, the washer and dryer in the basement are large, and quick.
