Description
Alcove Studio Apartment in Midtown West (NY-15971)
Alcove Studio, 1 Bathroom - Sleeps

Be part of one of the liveliest neighborhood in Manhattan – Midtown West! Tucked on West 40th Street and 8th Avenue, this alcove studio apartment is surrounded by some of the tallest skyscrapers and most famous attractions in the U.S. The modernly furnished alcove studio home is located on the 2nd floor (considered 1st in Europe) of a 4-story low-rise walk-up building. For your privacy, a security system is in place.

This studio offers a small, partly closed off area that is furnished with a bed to make it a private sleeping area. In the main living space, hard wood floors and modern accessories make this NYC apartment a comfortable and elegant environment. For overnight guest accommodation, the living room area features a double-sized convertible sofa bed. Large windows face south and allow some ventilation and natural illumination of the room. A flat-screen television provides entertainment during days spent at home.

The alcove bedroom is accessible through an open doorway attaching to the living room. It provides a queen-sized bed and window looking into the kitchen. No other windows are provided in this room. Closet space is available. An open kitchen presents red oak cabinets and most essential cooking equipment. A small granite countertop and tiled floors decorate the space. One window allows ventilation. Nearest the open kitchen, a long wooden dining table accommodates home-cooked family meals. The tiled bathroom includes a shower with sliding glass door and a window.

Midtown West incorporates just about everything New York is known for – bright lights, crowded streets, and tall buildings. Placed in the epicenter of the city, it presents an easy commute to the nightlife scene of downtown and the gorgeous parks and museums of uptown. However, it may be a while before you decide to travel outside of your neighborhood – as there are so many exciting things to see and do in the Midtown community! I had a lot of issues with the water temperature in the shower- while I was showering the water would suddenly become very hot (almost scalding) or very cold. I told the landlord and they sent someone to make repairs, but the issue wasn't resolved after that. I also had an issue where food would come up out of the drain of the tub (ex. rice, pasta).
It also would have been nice to be able to control the temperature because it got very hot in the room at times, even when it was very cold outside, but I know that's often not possible in apartment buildings.
