In the heart of Fort Greene, famous for its flea markets and outdoor movies, this junior one bedroom is located in an increasingly trendy New York City neighborhood that New Yorkers themselves can’t get enough of. On Cumberland Street and Lafayette Avenue, this fully furnished apartment offers all the benefits of both a residential neighborhood, and big city resources.
This 600 sqf (55m²) junior one bedroom has a full living room, complete with dining table for two and seating for several others on the plush red sofas. Where bookshelves don’t line the walls, large windows look out over the residential street and its many brownstones in this living room. The kitchen, fully equipped for you to cook at home, includes a dishwasher, oven, and fridge/freezer, meaning that you’ll have the option to explore some of Fort Greene’s many street cafes or stay home and cook up whatever your heart desires (the Fort Greene farmers’ markets provide all the groceries you might need). The sleeping area is equipped with a full bed. The exposed brick nearby gives the entire apartment a special charm that evokes a different era while the separate dressing room includes plenty of closet space. Lastly, be sure to take some time to enjoy the claw-footed tub in bathroom, which also features a skylight. Please note that this is an open concept junior one bedroom where the bedroom and living area are both open to the kitchen.
The Fort Greene neighborhood is made unique by its concentration of flea markets, namely the Fort Greene Flea (.2mi/400m) which offers everything from antiques to street food every Saturday from April-November. Just down the street from this apartment is the Cuyler Gore Park (489ft/150m), just one of the many leafy parks hidden away in Fort Greene. This apartment’s location means that not only will you have access to hundreds of bars, restaurants, and clubs, but you’ll also be able to access Manhattan and the other boroughs through the major transit hub that is Barclays Center.
The closest New York City subway stops are the Fulton Street G line (.2mi/260m) and the Lafayette Avenue C (.1mi230m), but the Barclays Center (.4mi/600m) has a few more lines available, including the B, D, N, Q, R, 2, 3, 5, and 5 lines.

Everything else about the apartment was great for the price. Loved the light, the design, the space, the convenience of onsite laundry . The property owner is great, very helpful. Location is perfect: a few minutes from the G or C, and a little further to lots of subway lines. Easy to get to Manhattan, but the neighborhood itself has restaurants, cafés, groceries (including organic, gourmet), movies, theater, stores - and a great feel to it. Only thing I would change is perhaps a different type of table for eating, but others might prefer the design aspect of a high table. |
