Call the charming neighborhood of Greenwich Village home when you rent this furnished 1 bedroom apartment. Located on the 5th floor (equivalent to the 4th floor European) of a pre-war walk-up building with security system near Thompson Street & West 3rd Street, you’ll find yourself situated in the heart of this picturesque and bohemian section of Manhattan, New York.
This cozy one bedroom apartment is furnished with all the necessities for New York City living. Relax on the futon sofa in the living room beneath a large picture of the NYC skyline and catch your favorite show on the flat screen TV. The futon opens to a bed to accommodate guests. Off the living room is the kitchenette, designed to maximize the space with white cabinetry, plenty of shelving and glass cabinets. A space saving compact stove/oven and mini refrigerator sit beneath the glass tile backsplash. In the corner by the exposed brick wall is a bistro table with bar stool seating, the perfect spot to enjoy a home cooked meal. An air conditioner above the window cools the kitchen area in the summertime. The bathroom juxtaposes the shiny black tiled walls of the glass shower with the white porcelain pedestal sink and toilet. Glass shelves, a rainfall shower and a silver framed mirror complete this modern update. At the opposite end of the apartment, an arched doorway leads to the bedroom. Here you’ll find a double bed to relax in to escape the buzz of the city. A light wood covered accent wall adds character to the bedroom, making it a peaceful retreat. A ceiling fan in this room cools and circulates the air while a closet and overhead cabinets provide storage.
Greenwich Village, also known as “The Village”, feels like an escape from the frenzy of the rest of Manhattan. Tree-lined streets and townhouses are typical of this quaint area where you can sip coffee at a neighborhood cafe, window shop at the unique local boutiques, or have a cocktail with friends at one of the jazz clubs or bars. The area is quiet by day and lively on evenings and weekends with the student population. Washington Square Park, located just 2 blocks away, is the heart of Greenwich Village and the central hangout for locals. Grab a spot on a bench and listen to musicians or just admire the view down Fifth Avenue through the famous Washington Square Arch. For a cozy cafe with a long history (it’s been around since 1927) and the best cappuccino, check out Cafe Reggio (119 MacDougal Street). For entertainment, the Village is also known for its comedy clubs. Grab some healthy Mediterranean food at the Olive Tree Cafe & Bar, and then head right downstairs afterward to the Comedy Cellar for a night of drinks and laughs.
The closest subway access can be found at Houston Street / Varick Street: (1 subway line) and West 4 Street / 6 Avenue: (A/B/C/D/E/F/M lines).

The apartment was very nice and in a fabulous neighborhood. It could use some repairs (cabinet doors are about to fall off, a piece of the fridge plastic doesn't fit right, the freezer has never been defrosted as far as i can tell and is unusable) and hadn't been deeply cleaned (like under the toilet seat and the fan blades were horrendous) in a long time. The bathroom was very nice and the mattress was comfortable. Plenty of hot water. The landlord was rather hard to communicate with and we had a few problems, so that was difficult. He was very nice when we could get ahold of him but he wasn't local so it took a lot of arranging if we needed something (like mailbox keys, etc). Overall we enjoyed the apartment a li, but it could have been a lot better had the things mentioned above been taken care of. |
