Situated in New York City's Brooklyn borough in the neighborhood of Crown Heights, this room for rent lies on the top floor of a 3-story walk-up building (equivalent to the European 2-story). Part of a two bedroom apartment with double exposure, there will be a northern exposure across the nearby street toward a park and southwards onto a backyard garden.
This fully furnished room for rent has its own amount of eclectic character, expressed by the various wooden furnishings and the hardwood floor. The double sized bed welcome you on your arrival, situated beneath a window looking toward a park and green treetops. You have an individual closet in the room to help you organize the space easily, as well as two other common closets in the hall. The bathroom with shower and bathtub will be shared with the roommate, along with the open kitchen and the living room. In the latter you will find a large area housing sofa and dining table, with a window giving south and straight onto a garden. To prepare your meals, the kitchen has appliances to your disposition, such as a microwave and a gas stove, to help you enjoy home cooked meals. This two bedroom apartment share is located at Bergen Street & Rochester Avenue, a mainly residential street full of townhouses or small buildings in Crown Heights. It is only 2 blocks from Utica Avenue and its array of stores and restaurants for your daily life. St John's Park is just one more block away, a nice spot to relax with New Heights Bar & Lounge just across the street for a quick bite to eat. Otherwise the area is great to discover, with Bedford Stuyvesant to the north and Prospect Heights to the west. There are many similar parks strewn around for when you need to take a break in the middle of your explorations. For some cultural time, no need to travel far as the Weeksville Heritage Center is only 300 feet away (90m) and will give you a proper overview of local history, offers a farmer's market and even stages some jazz concerts. Some of Brooklyn's biggest attractions are also nearby, the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens and the Brooklyn Museum, are 3 and 4 train stops away respectively on the 2/3/4/5 line (accessible by bus), and well situated on the edge of the beautiful Prospect Park.
The closest subway is Utica Avenue / Fulton Street, 5 blocks away, and from there you will be able to take A/C lines towards Manhattan (only 5 stops on the express train!) or further east in Brooklyn. Alternatively you can take the 3,4,5 trains at Utica Avenue /Eastern Parkway : Crown Heights. So you have plenty of options to go almost anywhere in New York!
