From: France,
Accommodation Rental: 5 days

I had to change apartments due to unforeseen circumstances, and so I was offered this studio which is actually in a hotel and not an individual apartment. I knew this at the time of booking, and chose this for the excellent location in Midtown. If you are staying in NYC for a longer period, and want to do your own food shopping and cooking, then this is not for you. The only cooking facility is a microwave, and there is no dining table.
However, the kitchen area is a good size; there is a large fridge; the microwave is very big and works very well, and there is a tea/coffee machine. Crockery and cutlery, glasses are provided. It's fine for making yourself breakfast or a light snack, but not real cooking. We were in NYC for 5 full days, and out most of the day, and eating out, so it was easily enough for our needs.
The building is very well situated; less than 5 minutes to walk to the Empire State Building and Grand Central Station with the subway station that gets you everywhere in minutes. There is a rooftop terrace which has fantastic views of the Chrysler and Empire State buildings. The restaurant (called 'Rare') serves really good burgers. Overall, if I were going back to NYC in the summer, then I would rent an apartment with outside space and a full kitchen; but for a winter visit to NYC for a short period the the Shelburne is perfect.

Dear Jacquie,
Thank you for sharing your review. We are delighted to read that you had enjoyed your stay with us. We are sorry to hear that you were not fully satisfied with the kitchen equipment that we provided, but we're glad to hear that it was more than enough for your needs.
Our central location is a great opportunity for all of our guests to visit the Big Apple. We do hope to see you again at our complimentary wine hour held every day from 5pm to 6pm.

Thank you, Jacquie, for your feedback. Unfortunately, sometimes owners have to cancel bookings, but thankfully this happens very rarely. Please note that as we do not own nor manage the apartments that we list, we do not have any control over owners' cancellations. We are truly sorry about the inconvenience. We are glad that we were able to help you find another apartment that fulfilled your needs, and we are thrilled to hear that you had a great stay in New York!

There was nothing more than a hotel room. There were no dishes or microwave or stove. The frig was extremely small and what was there was filled with hotel stuff so you couldn't anything in there or cook any food. There weren't any dishes or toaster or kettle. It was very disappointing.

Dear Ms. Gail,

Thank you for your review and for choosing our property.
We are so sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the amenities offered in our rooms. I am happy to inform you that as a result of your valuable feedback, we will be adding dishes and flatware in all rooms with kitchenettes (previously they were distributed upon request).

Our goal is to ensure all our guest have a comfortable stay and a positive experience, thus we would be happy to remove the mini bar items from the refrigerator to create more space for your use. We currently do this for many of our guests.

Thank you again for your feedback.
