If you're looking for a home base for exploring the city or a quiet home to return to after a busy day, this is the perfect apartment for you. This fully furnished rental accommodation is located near the corner of Rue Cavé & Rue Stephenson in Clichy (near Montmartre) of the trendy 18th arrondissement of Paris. The apartment is on the second floor (third American floor) of a walk-up building equipped with a digicode protection system at the exterior door and has an intercom, as well as a concierge. Make the best use of valuable Paris space in this studio apartment!
The 18 square meter (195 sq ft) main room is dominated by the bed, whose mezzanine is accessed by a ladder at the far end of the room. The bed is a double (140 cm wide) and is located above the living room area, where two armchairs give you space to kick back and relax. There is a desk by the window (with street exposure) and a closet for storage. The kitchen is compact, containing everything you'll need to cook and eat at home, including a toaster, an induction cook surface and a refrigerator. You can eat your meal at the small bar countertop, where two chairs allow you to dine with company. Next to the kitchen is the bathroom, with a bathtub and a large window onto the courtyard.
Small touches of individuality give this apartment its charm, from the parquet floors to the rich oak of the mezzanine. A renovation in 2012 gave the studio a fresh feel and you'll appreciate the new amenities. The space is complemented by a storage locker in the building's basement, where you can keep your bags and store other non-necessary items to maximize your space even more!
The neighborhood of Clichy is perfect for someone staying in Paris for longer than a tourist visit: you're off the beaten path here in the northern eighteenth arrondissement, historic home to artists and bohemians. Nowadays, this is a diverse neighborhood of students, young families and immigrants, with many ethnic food stores and opportunities for thrift shopping.
You're right next door to the Église Saint Bernard with its little square, reminiscent of Old Paris. The nearest park is the square around the church, just two blocks (100 m) away. Less than 15 minutes away by foot is famous Sacré Coeur, Paris's second most famous church and its sloping park, providing some of the best views available of central Paris. Get lost in the winding streets of Montmartre to have a real Paris experience. Or, you can take a walk to the canal, only 10 blocks or 1.2 km away, where shops, bars and restaurants line the historic waters, once one of Paris's lifelines.
To get to the rest of the city, just take the metro from La Chapelle on the 2 (8 minutes/550 m away) or Château Rouge on the 4 line (7 minutes/600 m away). There are vélib stations for Paris's renowned bike share all around the neighborhood and the Gare du Nord, one of Paris's largest train stations, is 15 minutes walking (1.7 km) away, making heading out of the city a breeze.

The apartment is somewhat small (as is to be expected in Paris), but has plenty of usable space thanks to the lofted bed. The space is finished with wood floors, counters, and bedframe, and as such feels very cozy. The bathroom has rustic exposed brick and a window overlooking the garden courtyard, which is kept beautiful by a woman who lives on the other side of the yard. |
