These fully furnished and recently renovated one bedroom apartment is right in the heart of the Right Bank of the Seine river, at the corner of Rue des Petites Ecuries & Rue du Faubourg Saint Denis. In the beautiful and popular 10th arrondissement of Paris, this one bedroom's amenities and convenience make it a great pick. This apartment is on the first floor of five (second American floor) of a prewar walk-up building right in the middle of one of the most exciting and bustling districts of the city. Fortunately, the windows here face into the courtyard, so you get the convenience of the location without the noise pollution of a city.

Because of the recent renovation (2012), almost all of the appliances and other amenities are modern. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need to make food at home, along with plenty of storage space. Available for your convenience are:

  • A double bed with linens included
  • Storage space for clothing in two shelves and two wardrobes
  • Gas stove, kettle, coffee machine, microwave, juicer and toaster
  • Refrigerator and freezer
  • Combination washer/dryer in apartment
  • Living room with large corner sofa and TV

In one of the hippest neighborhoods in Paris, whatever you're into, you can find it nearby this apartment. Some of the best known clubs, the trendiest bars, the busiest cafés and the most popular restaurants in the city are right outside the door. Running errands is a breeze with a Franprix supermarket just minutes away, as well as a boulangerie-patisserie and several produce markets. The area surrounding the apartment is crossed by many metro lines, with the nearest stations being Chateau d'Eau (metro line 4), Gare de l'Est (metro lines 4, 5, 7, long distance trains), and Strasbourg Saint-Denis (metro lines 4, 8, 9). There are vélib' (bike share) and autolib' (car share) stations nearby, providing a great alternative to the metro.

Many of Paris's most famous sites are within walking distance or just a few stops away by metro. The Canal Saint Martin, less than a kilometer (half mile) away by foot, is one of the best places in Paris to sit and watch the world go by. It's a Parisian tradition to sit on the Canal and split a bottle of wine. Right next to the Strasbourg-Saint-Denis metro station is the Porte Saint-Denis, a triumphal arch built by Louis XIV to celebrate his victories in the Netherlands, a precursor to the Arc de Triomphe. If you keep heading south, you'll get to the Centre Pompidou, Paris's modern art museum, public reference library and the location of several art studios and innovation spaces. The neighborhood surrounding this museum is the Marais, famous for its chic bars and galleries and its beautifully preserved medieval cityscape. The city's other major tourist sites such as the Louvre, Notre Dame de Paris and charming and historic Latin Quarter are all just a few stops away on the 4 line.

Apartment Rental: 3 months

This rental is outrageous.
Ultra-noisy (upstairs hard of hearing person watches television at full blast at 3 am, restaurant emptying the trash at 2 am, paper walls,...), dark (even then, that's a euphemism) and right in the middle of our rental period, the access to the terrace was removed while that was the only small square meters that relieved us from the apartment's lack of comfort.

In short, 3 months of hell.

First of all, I wish to thank you for choosing my apartment for your three-month stay.

However, I am very surprised to read your comments whereas you never made mention of any grievance or wish to leave the apartment.

With regard to my hearing-impaired neighbor, you just have to let her know that her TV set isn't properly adjusted when she forgets... it is extremely rare.

As for the surrounding noise, you have to know that Paris is not the countryside, it is an exciting city and life is not always a bed of roses. Hence the bustle and the neighbors!

You are pointing out that the apartment is dark. It is comfortably located on the 1st floor, admittedly less bright than a 6th-floor apartment, but the bedroom, the sitting room and the kitchen all have a large window, and there's even a window in the bathroom and in the toilet, which is far from being the case in all Paris apartments! July was unusually rainy and unfortunately, you couldn't enjoy having the sun get in through the big courtyard.

This 35m² apartment is furnished soberly with modern design items and your own pieces of furniture that you brought in due to your relocation made it cramped; this criticism also seems quite improper.

Among the numerous people who stayed here-sometimes for even longer stays!-you are unfortunately the first one to complain.

The rent is absolutely appropriate for its central and much sought-after location, in a neighborhood undergoing great changes and where all the Paris 25 to 30 year-olds go out, enjoy the restaurants etc.

Besides, I made your stay easier when I accepted an early arrival and late departure after the end of the month, precisely because of problems with an apartment that wasn't available yet and with the previous one that you had to vacate in time for its purchasers. I even handed the keys over to you the day before the last day of the rental agreement because at the last minute, your schedule was no longer compatible with the one we'd agreed on for the key handover and I did that free of charge thereby showing great flexibility.

Moreover, I had to chase you up several times for the insurance policy which you took a long time to take out, as well as for the payment of the rent-which was initially even only partially paid because you had "not read the rental agreement properly".

As for the terrace, it was specified in the lease that the access to it was not included in the lease but a tolerance that could be revoked any time by the condominium... which was the case, unfortunately, so it was out of my control!
These criticisms are totally unfounded and all the more unfair coming from people who never complied with the terms of the agreement from the beginning to the end of it.
