The apartment is located in a dynamic and exciting part of Paris with lots of bars, restaurants and shops nearby. That being said, it is perfectly calm and quiet due to it being off the street. It is the perfect size for one person or a couple needing to stay in Paris, and its location is simply unbeatable. Airy and bright, it was a pleasure to stay here.

Very beautiful, very comfortable apartment, the location is wonderful.

Negatives: there is no elevator and the apartment is a bit old, there are clothe moths and the floor is a bit damaged.

The owner is a very nice person but for money matters, she's a bit of a pain. We gave her the 1250 euro deposit and now that we've left the apartment, she doesn't want to return the money, she deducted us everything, first we agreed that after the invoices for the water, the light, the Internet and the telephone, she was going to give us back 312 euros, now she's told me that for the cleaning and other things she is deducting more and she will make a deposit of 100 euros which she hasn't done so far.

I think the owner's attitude is really inappropriate and she wants to take advantage of the situation given that none of the tenants are in Paris now and she wants to take advantage of our money.

Dear Sofia,

Further to your review, I would like to give you an answer. Throughout the year and straight from the start, I've always had a nice and friendly relationship with Julia and you, as was the case with the previous renters who stayed in the apartment. I am really sorry that it wasn't the case for the last days after returning from your trip.

Maybe I should have asked you to pay for utilities on a rolling basis rather than in a bunch at the end of the rental period? I am sorry if there was a misunderstanding because of that. I thought it would be easier that way.

. As regards to the moths:
I was really surprised since the apartment has always been salubrious. I have lived there, and I stayed there just before your arrival and there never were any moths. Otherwise, you would have told me before. I think it's rather due to malevolence, some food that was left for a while in your bedroom during your absence for example. For that matter, the apartment is currently occupied and there aren't any at all anymore. I admit the treatment lasted for several days after your departure.

. Damaged floor:
When Julia told me she thought some floorboards were damaged in places, I promised I would find a solution and I provided a carpet, and then a second bigger one of better quality, made of wool.

. Security deposit:
When I came over for the checkout inventory, you were in a rush because you were due to leave ; I understand that. That's why we agreed the deposit would be returned after deducting the utilities and the condition report, as is usually done. Given the lack of cleaning and regular maintenance, I hired a cleaning lady, changed a window handle... to have the apartment back in the clean condition in which you had found it when you arrived - see photos.

After changing the handle, retrieved and sent the invoices, I returned your deposit via Julia's account as you had asked me to. As I was on holiday, it took a bit of time, I'm sorry.

This apartment is located in a truly wonderful and vibrant neighborhood. The apartment itself, however, is not fantastic. For Parisian standards it is reasonably large and the kitchen is quite well-equipped. However, a lot of the furniture is of terrible quality and ought to be replaced.

We were also quite dissatisfied with our experience with the owner. She was not very responsive to our problems, as many things in the apartment were broken when we moved in which we had to fix ourselves.

Compared to other Parisian apartments for the same price, this apartment is probably average. But, the exciting district it is located in makes it worth the stay.

Anna, thank you for your positive review. I am sorry you thought I wasn't responsive enough. It is true it might have taken me some time to change the television set but in the end I provided a new, much higher performance flat screen TV.

I do my best to meet my renters' expectations, like changing the tap, purchasing a new kettle and laundry basket when requested. That's the reason why I haven't had any issue in 11 years and 18 rentals.

Thank you for choosing my apartment and for leaving it as clean as you found it.

Overall a very good apartment for the price and its very central location. On the whole there was everything you may need (dishwasher, washing machine, very well equipped kitchen etc.) The apartment is ideal for a couple as one room can be used as a bedroom and the other as living- and dining room.

Also the owner is very nice and has nearly always taken care of our problems very fast. The apartment is also very bright and very quiet. Given the 5 floors, an elevator would have been welcome but this kind of issue is typical in Paris.

If the two rooms are used as individual bedrooms, the sofa bed in the front room is not necessarily supposed to be used in the longer term. Still, we were globally more than happy with the apartment.
