Neighborhood:
This apartment is situated in the Fifth Arrondissement in the Quartier Latin south, between Boulevard du Port Royal and rue Bertholet. Part of a very attractive and historic area of Paris, this little residential street borders the 13th Arrondissement. A few steps away is one of the oldest streets in the city, rue Mouffetard, with the well-known, daily open-air market. All around the neighborhood there are many restaurants, cafes, and other services. In fair distance, to the northeast, the green expanses and pools of the exceptional Jardin du Luxembourg, perfect for a relaxing walk, soften the urbaneness of the area. To the north are the Pantheon, the Boulevard Saint Germain, and the Seine River, and to the northeast are the universities and the attractive Jardin des Plantes.
Premises:
North and south exposed, this 80m² (approx. 860 sq. ft.) two-bedroom apartment is located on the third French floor of a 19th century building equipped with 2 entrance doors protected by security systems and a narrow elevator that fits two people.
It has off-white walls and a well-kept parquet floor.
There is an entry corridor which leads to the other rooms. Facing the main door, the living room is furnished with a sofa and two armchairs, a rectangular coffee table, a double-size bed, a desk, a cable TV with a DVD player, and a portable phone with international calling available. The two windows overlook the little street.
The separate dining room is located down the hall off of the kitchen and is furnished with a table that seats four. A window allows in natural sunlight and overlooks the courtyard.
On the street side, the first bedroom has a double bed with bedside tables and lamps, a wardrobe, a floor lamp, and a double-glazed window on the street side with brown curtains.
The second bedroom is furnished with trundle beds (single size), a chest of drawers and a closet. It has also a double-glazed window, which overlooks the street. The door of this bedroom has no locking system.
Across the dining room, the kitchen is equipped with a traditional electric oven, three gas burners, a small refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker, a toaster, a stainless steel sink, basic utensils stowed in the cupboards, a brown worktop, a dishwasher and a washing machine.
The bathroom has a shower, a white ceramic washbasin, a medicine cabinet, and a toilet. The second bathroom has a washbasin, a shower and a toilet.
There is also a walk-in closet accessible through the entrance corridor and which can be used as a drying room.
Wireless Internet access is available throughout the apartment.
The closest metro station is the fast RER B Port Royal, or, a little farther, Les Gobelins, Censier Daubenton (line 7) and Glaciere (line 6). Much closer there are six bus lines (21, 27, 38, 47, 83, 91).

Spacious accommodation, located in a very quiet street, easy access to public transportation and close to local stores and markets. Kind and meticulous welcome. |

Thanks to Sandro S. for his good review and for the good relation we had with him and his family. Regarding the elevator, there are 2 lights, too bad that both went out that week. I came back from my vacation the day after Sandro's departure, I phoned the company in charge of the maintenance for the elevator and the lights were quickly changed. |

The owner was very friendly, attentive and helpful. He went out of his way to show us everything in the apartment. He was also kind enough to mail back one of our kids shirts when they left it behind. |

The owner was extremely well prepared with maps, (even hand-drawn ones of the neighborhood), brochures, and information about the metro. He was very friendly and thoughtful. He even made sure to leave us coffee for the mornings, a new sponge to do dishes and several new pairs of dishwashing gloves. |

It was a great pleasure to host Jeffrey and his wife, a nice and knowledgeable couple (English speakers but who speak good French!). I gave them plenty of information on the apartment, the neighborhood and Paris. |

Lovely, large and quiet apartment in a gracious old building. Excellent location on a quiet side street with easy walking to Metro stops, place de Contrescarpe, rue Mouffetard, Pantheon, and dozens of restaurants. Boulangerie on the corner (Boulangerie Berthollet) is not well known but makes the best almond croissant in Paris. |

The apartment we rented was very well located. No regrets but I would have appreciated if I would have known that the owner actually lived in the apartment we were renting and leaves on vacation when he rents it. Strange because there was a lot of personal items in drawers and closets. |

The apartment on rue Flatters was spacious, well positioned in terms of public transportation, well appointed and comfortable. There is a boulangerie across the street, a chocolatier, restaurants, and cafes nearby as well. |

We were pleased with the apartment we rented. It wasn't fancy, but it had everything we needed. It was very convenient - 5 min walk from one metro station and a 10 min walk from the RER. It was in a good neighborhood, and it was quiet. There were restaurants and bakeries nearby. |
