This furnished studio apartment is found on the second floor (considered the 1st floor by Europeans) of a 3-story brownstone at 142nd Street & Amsterdam Avenue in the Hamilton Heights section of Uptown Manhattan, New York City. There is a security system for your convenience. Hardwood flooring and natural wood trim keep with the historic character of the building.
Enter the apartment in the living area of the apartment. In this all white room with two windows you will find a desk, double bed, and armchair with ottoman that sits next to a decorative fireplace. In one corner there is a closet where you can store your belongings. The floor-to-ceiling windows in this room overlook the backyard garden. Off of the living area is the kitchen, which is equipped with a 4-burner gas stove, oven, microwave and standard size refrigerator. There is a cabinet unit in the space for additional storage. At the opposite end of the studio is the all white tile bathroom. There is a tub with shower, and a sink with cabinet storage underneath and mirror overhead.
Hamilton Heights is a neighborhood in West Harlem known for its brownstone lined streets and proximity to many academic institutions such as the City College of New York, Dance Theatre of Harlem, The Harlem School of the Arts, and Aaron Davis Hall. For all your shopping and dining needs head to Broadway, less than one block away. Lined with delis, pharmacies, restaurants and other shops you are sure to find everything here! If you are looking for a taste of Mexican food try La Posada at 143rd and Broadway or for a café atmosphere head to Tanto Dulce at 14th and Broadway where they specialize in European fare. To enjoy the outdoors Riverbank State Park is right on the Hudson River only 0.2 miles (320 meters) from the apartment. With an Olympic-size swimming pool, fitness center and outdoor running and walking paths. The most interesting part about this park is while in the park it seems like an ordinary park, but if you see it from the other side of the Hudson River you will realize that underneath all the grass it is actually a water treatment facility for the United States!
To access the rest of NYC there are a couple of subway stations in the area. You can catch the 1 train at the 145 Street / Broadway Station or if you are looking for the A, B, C, or D trains they are accessible at the 145 Street / Saint Nicholas Avenue Station.
