Wander through the Neue Galerie (1.1mi/1.77km away), featuring German and Austrian art and design from the early 20th century. For a change from Central Park, just a stroll from the apartment you will find Carl Schurz Park (E 86th Street & East End Ave) where you can find Gracie Mansion, the official residence of the Mayor of New York, plus some spectacular river views!
