These rooms for rent are found in a shared 4 bedroom / 1.5 bathroom apartment in Bedford-Stuyvesant, on Reid Avenue and Putnam Avenue in Brooklyn. The rooms are on the 2nd floor (considered the 1st floor by Europeans) of a 4-story walk-up building located on a street corner—making it very bright, as the sunlight shines through from both the North and the East. You will conveniently find a commercial laundromat on the ground level of this building.
These rooms are all similarly furnished with queen or double size beds and dessers, and each has its own private closet for storage. The rooms also have their own televisions with cable access for relaxing on your own. Additionally, the rooms have either a desk or a table with bar stools, where you can work or have meals in your room.
Keep in mind that the kitchen and bathrooms are shared, which will give you the opportunity to interact more and get to know your roommates better. The shared kitchen is also fully equipped and painted in a cheerful yellow, and the full bathroom features modern, marble-lined tile walls; there is also an additional half bath to share amongst the roommates.
These rooms for rent are well situated in the Bedford-Stuyvesant-Crown Heights area in central Brooklyn, New York. You will enjoy taking a stroll through the streets in this neighborhood, which are lined with many historic townhouses and brownstones, and have a lot of character. If you wish to stay in the area, there is a combination of acclaimed local eateries. You can grab a burger at Crave (5 blocks), which only uses fresh and local ingredients, or if you're feeling indulgent, head to Peaches Market, well-known for their brunch (7 blocks). For grocery shopping, stop by Key Food, which is just across the street. Another Brooklyn attraction is Prospect Park (6 subway stops). There are numerous notable natives and residents of this area, many in the entertainment industry, like Lil’Kim, Jay-Z, Nora Jones, Chris Rock, Vanessa Williams, and Tracey Morgan, among others. Adjacent neighborhoods include Fort Greene, Williamsburg, and Bushwick. New York City has so much to offer that you’ll probably want to explore the other boroughs as well. You will appreciate that public transportation is readily accessible from your shared apartment. The nearest subway station—Gates Avenue / Broadway (J and Z trains)— is only 6 blocks away. Or you can head to the Utica Avenue / Fulton station (10 blocks), where you can catch the A and C trains—both local and express. The A train will take you to Manhattan in as few as 5 stops, and the J train in 9; both of these options will have you in downtown Brooklyn or downtown Manhattan relatively quickly!
Please note that there is no living room in this apartment.

The landlord is great and if you need anything he's on it right away. There's some loud music but people are mindful of the time and it's usually nothing that can't be ignored by running a fan. The place can be messy but it's a bunch of bachelor dudes in the place. |

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, I greatly appreciate it. In response to your concerns I'll speak with the other residents regarding personal cleanliness in private and public areas as well as the loud music concerns. I'm sure a few well placed notices will keep everyone aware of the responsibility they have to each other when sharing a space. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience. |

The owners are very attentive to any need you may have, with a very quick response time. Never was told 'no' and felt at ease for the duration of my stay. |

There's a problem with cockroaches in the apartment. The owner had an exterminator come every month, but then we had mice. |
