Artist Studio: This spacious "artist studio" is a two story, fully equipped house, the bedrooms are on the second floor 18'x24' the first floor is 18' x 32' kitchen and studio area, the bath is 6'x 10'.The house is built on pilings over Jamaica Bay, within an intimate colony of homes accessible by a 300 foot boardwalk over the tidal marshlands. Located in the heart of Gateway National Recreation Area just, 10 minutes from Kennedy Airport, 45 minutes from Manhattan, within a 5-minute walk of the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge and one train stop from Rockaway Beach. Enjoy the beautiful peaceful surrounding ideal for; boating, fishing, swimming, surfing and bird watching or walk along the beaches, knowing that the excitement, culture and fine cuisine of one of the world's greatest cities is just a short ride away.
The neighborhood is an island & consists of single family homes, a nice park with handball & tennis courts, a fishing station where boats and motors can be rented. Within a 5 minute walk there is the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. There have been 325 species of birds recorded at the Refuge through 1994. Egrets, Night Heron, Oyster Catchers, Loons, Bittern, Glossy Ibis, Snow Geese and Plover are just a few you will see.
There is one queen one double and one single bed. The studio has towels & sheets, however, they are not changed daily. There are also cooking utensils, etc. and small grocery stores as well as a laundry mat within walking distance.
