This furnished studio apartment is located on Rue de Fleurus between Boulevard Raspail and Rue d’Assas. It is situated in the historical district of Saint Germain des Pres, known for its elegant trendy streets, many stylish fashion shops, antique shops, art galleries, sophisticated and traditional restaurants, pubs and cinemas. After World War II, St. Germain-des-Près became synonymous with intellectual life centered on bars and cafes. This accommodation is within a short walking distance to the Seine River and the delightful Ile Saint Louis and not far from the “Jardin du Luxembourg”. There are all sorts of essential shops and services in the neighbourhood, such as the lively market situated on Rue de Buci.


This 13m² (approx 140 sq ft) studio apartment is located on the second floor (3rd in the USA) of a 19th century walk up building. The entrance gate, protected by a coded security system and by an intercom opens into a hall with the concierge’s office. It leads to a courtyard with the staircase on the left hand side.

The studio opens directly into the main room. It has parquet floor.

The 11m² (approx. 120 sq. ft.) main room has a window with curtains and a view on the courtyard. It is furnished with a double size sofa bed, a desk with a chair. It is also equipped with a small TV, Optic Fiber WiFi and a cupboard.

The open kitchen is equipped with two electric plates, a refrigerator, a microwave combo oven, a toaster, a kettle and a coffee maker.

The bathroom has a washbasin, a toilet and a shower.

Heat and hot water are electric and individual.

For convenient travel around Paris, the nearest metro station is Saint Placide (line 4).

There was construction right outside my window which made it incredibly loud. Don't know when that will end but you should inquire about that. If there is no construction, it's a very peaceful space.

If you want internet, you must subscribe yourselves. I paid 50 euros per month for internet/mobile. So keep that in mind.

Other than that, great apartment in a great location.

Dear Ronald,

The restoration will be over in June, it is true that it isn't very pleasant, but as of June, it will be over and the building will be even nicer. As regards to the Internet, there are several options and you can take out a subscription for a reasonable price.

Several outlets either did not function to start, or stopped working about 3 months in to my stay. The addition of a WiFi connection would have been ideal.

Dear Elena,

Thank You. You never told me there was a problem with the outlets during your stay in my studio. But after your departure, when I put it back into shape, I did indeed notice that some outlets did not work. I had the electrician come over and he fixed them.

As regards to the wifi, the current renter has been using it and confirmed it works so I didn't do anything there.

The owner was extremely helpful when problems arose, very accommodating, pleasant and helpful in all respects. Though the apartment was small, compensation was found in the courtyard outlook. There were two difficulties that were not easily resolved: Wifi/Internet service and electricity costs. The signal strength, given the remote location of the Wifi equipment, was too weak for my computer to receive and it became necessary for me to contract my own service, an expense I had not anticipated.

Because of the exposure of the apartment [exterior walls on two sides, an unconditioned stairwell on the third and lack of insulated windows], the electricity costs for heating were shockingly high.

Because of these two conditions, I am unable to rate the apartment as being of good value for the overall cost.

Dear Michael,

Thank you for your comments on my studio apartment, we'd already discussed this and I've just finished works:

Removal of the fireplace and recovery of the pipe after knocking the walls down to get more space and to get rid of the drafts caused by the fireplace. Some adjustments have also been made in the kitchenette area. A more powerful wifi router will be installed.
