Studio in an East Village Brownstone
LOCATION: New York City's East Village-6th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue.

SIZE: Studio, 1 bathroom and approximately 500 square feet. Sleeps 4 people comfortably.

BUILDING: In The heart of the East Village, this New York apartment is located on the 2nd floor of a three- floor building. There is no elevator. This townhouse dates from the mid-1800's, originally built as the Parish House for the Lutheran (now a Jewish Synagogue) Church next door. This apartment is in the heart of a part of New York that never sleeps. The activity is constant and noise levels can be high.

INTERIOR: Newly remodeled, bright and spacious. This charming studio has lots of windows. It has maple hardwood floors; a tiled decorated fireplace with a cedar mantle. The kitchen is open and comes fully equipped. The guests can sleep in two-twin cedar located next to each other. When put together they create a king-size bed. There is also a sofa and a new double futon-fold out sleeper sofa. There is a color with VCR, and a phone.
The kitchen has a full stove and oven as well as a microwave and toaster oven. There is a refrigerator. Pots and pans as well as dinnerware are furnished to cook and eat in. The bathroom has a shower and a toilet. Towels are provided.

NEIGHBORHOOD: The East Village is full of many outstanding restaurants offering a spectrum of ethnic choices. Avenues A and B are a hot spot of new cafes, bars and nightclubs. Situated between the peaks of Wall Street and the Empire State Building it is home to New York University and a 10-minute walk to Washington Square Park. Within the neighborhood there are numerous art galleries, clubs, shops and boutiques. Grocery, produce, and hardware stores are all within a block.

OTHER: Public transportation couldn't be easier. Bus lines stop at either side of the block. A five-block walk will take you to the subway stop that will take you anywhere in New York, Queens, Brooklyn or the Bronx on either 1st or 2nd Avenue. Taxis can be hailed at any time day or night.

The [East Village] apartment was ideally located, it was clean and agreeable. The owner gave us all the information we needed and was present if necessary. The only problem was the noise in the street and the absence of sound isolation.Thank you for everything.

Hi New York Habitat. We are back home since 15th nov and we still can't forget our perfect stay in the rented apartment.
Hi New York Habitat. We are back home since 15th nov and we still can't forget our perfect stay in the rented apartment. It was very small, but perfect for our demands. It was clean and well-positioned, the bathroom was [...] too small and the shower a bit non-easy and comfortable but it was ok for a one week-stay. The owner has been very kind with us but also reserved (not intrusive at all). We are satisfied of the service, I thank you for your interest [...]

Nothing but good things to say about our experience in the [East Village-New York] apartment.
Nothing but good things to say about our experience in the [East Village-New York] apartment. This is the second time I have used New York Habitat to rent a vacation rental and it has really enhanced our experience both times. The apartment was very clean and had all we needed for our stay (including a hair dryer which my girlfriend was extremely excited about). The information provided about nearby restaurants and shops was very useful, as was the NY map (including Subway/Bus routes) which we used throughout our stay. We really enjoyed the vibrancy of the area and the proximity to both uptown and downtown Manhattan. We felt very safe both on the streets and in the apartment at night [...]. I would definitely stay here again and use your service again, and have already recommended it to friends who wish to visit NY in the future.

Very clean and tidy [New York] apartment that looked even better in real life than on the photos.
Everything was perfect! The super-friendly host helped us a lot and was always reachable. Very clean and tidy [New York] apartment that looked even better in real life than on the photos. The owner had even worked out small tour suggestions and gourmet walks through the neighborhood which I found to be a very sweet idea...and the suggestions proved to be worthwhile! So to make a long story short: Couldn't have been better!
