Only the street in front of the appartment is a very busy one and therefore noisy but this is New York and not Yellowstone Park.
Access to the public transport is easy.

I cannot rave enough about how wonderful this apartment was!! The location was fabulous, and there really aren't any affordable hotels in the area. The landlord was fantastic as well. I can not compliment all enough - and have already given your Internet address to multiple friends (I didn't tell them all about this specific address- I don't want it to get too busy!!!!

Recently we stayed in an apartment [in] Hudson Street, New York, and we were thrilled with our accommodation.
The owner [...] was very welcoming, and we were made to feel we had a home away from home. The vacation rental was very comfortable and full of character [...], and not at all pokey as some New York apartments appeared when looking at other rentals available.
As far as location goes, it was close to some great restaurants [...] and just a short walk from a subway stop, which of course opened up all of Manhattan to us. Some of the little things that help to make a holiday easier were having a Post Office and a laundromat just over the road, and having a supermarket quite close meant we had the option of making our own breakfasts some mornings.
Being only one flight up from the street, the apartment was a bit noisy at night. That was the only downside, and it is New York, anyway: the city that never sleeps!
All in all, we felt very safe there and wouldn't hesitate in recommending the apartment or your rental service to any of our friends. We would like to pass on our thanks to [our agent] from your company for making everything so easy. |

We appreciated the apartment Hudson Street a lot. There were only two problems:
-the Hudson Street is quite loud, maybe you should show a picture of the street also , so the people know about the traffic there
- the heating system is managed centrally, so the tenants cannot decide whether they want it more warm or cold

All appliances worked and we wanted for nothing extra.
Did run out of hot water a couple of times, but I think this is to do with the hot water being generated by central heating. (We only have a stand alone hot water service in Australia)
Location was brilliant, although noisy (street/traffic). This is not a fault of the vacation rental, it's city living. (Have stayed in Greenwich Village Before; 11th St)
The landlady easy to get along with and very helpful.
I have no adverse comments and enjoyed our stay. |

The apartment was in exactly the location we wanted and had everything we needed, except that the telephone wasn't working which meant that we had to buy a mobile phone for our stay so that we could contact our family in New York. The owner kindly gave us her own phone number as an emergency contact number for our family in Australia where we were worried about a sick family member.
The owner of this vacation rental is a delightful, friendly, welcoming lady who made us feel at home from the minute she opened the front door to us. The fact that she lives in the building meant that she was on hand to answer our questions and give us suggestions and information on the local area, which we appreciated very much.
The apartment itself is beautifully decorated and very well set up- we only needed to buy a can opener but [the owner] would have given us one if we had asked. There is an abundance of linen and towels and a well equipped kitchen, somewhat short of bench space but otherwise very good for cooking our own meals when we could drag ourselves away from the wonderful
restaurants in the area.
After our first 2 weeks the apartment was thoroughly cleaned and new linen and towels provided which was unexpected but appreciated. There is a laundromat opposite the apartment which is very convenient, as are the supermarket and internet facilities in the shop next door.
The only thing I would say against this apartment is that it is on a very busy street with a lot of nocturnal noise, which after a few nights we got used to and appreciated as part of the New York experience ( also my husband could sleep through an attack from a herd of wild elephants) but it may not suit someone who is looking for a quiet location. The benefits of the
apartment and its location far outweighed this for us, and we would, and hope to, return very shortly (as soon as our bank balance recovers from our shopping sprees).
I would also be happy to recommend your service to anyone interested in renting an apartment in New York- to us it is the only way to really get to know your wonderful city.

I really couldn't speak more highly of the apartment in Hudson Street and of all [the accommodation owner]'s assistance. The vacation rental was absolutely perfect for our needs. Greenwich Village was by far our favourite area of new york to spend time in. The actual facilities of the apartment were also very good. We had no complaints at all about the beds, kitchen or bathroom. Having the added extra of cable tv was also excellent after a long day on our feet. There were 4 of us staying in the apartment and it was very comfortable. I would certainly request to stay in the same apartment when i next travel to new york.
Also, thank you so much for all your help in finding it, we really appreciated it. I'm sure we'll be in contact again as the girls and i have already spoken about our 'reunion' trip to new york! |
