The studio apartment is located in the Union Square area of New York City in a building constructed at the beginning of the 20th Century. The 5-story building is a walk-up (no elevator) and is situated on 3rd Avenue at 14th Street. It is situated between the Gramercy Park and the East Village areas. The building is primarily composed of many similar hotel-like units.
The furnished apartment has standard furnishings: a double bed where you can sleep after a long day of working or studying, an air-conditioning unit to cool the studio during hot NYC days, a TV with cable and Internet access for entertainment and research during your time off.
The kitchen space of the studio is lightly equipped with a microwave, a toaster, a coffee maker, and a mini-fridge; there is no oven. If you feel like having your meals outside when the weather is warm, there are several places in the neighborhood that have outdoor seating; for example, you can try noodles at Republic or homemade granola at Friend of a Farmer.
Please note that the speed of the Internet connection may be slowed down at times.
For nights out, the Union Square area and the East Village have a lot to offer with theme bars such as the Beauty Bar or Coyote Ugly Saloon. Of course, you can find almost anything in Manhattan, so there are plenty of elegant wine bars or stylish lounges as well.
If, however, you prefer a quiet evening, you can go watch a movie at the theater located just a few blocks away. New York receives many unique films that other cities are not lucky enough to even hear about!
If you wish to go around town and discover Manhattan’s other neighborhoods, there are two subway stations close to the apartment: 3rd Avenue station on 14th Street with the L line, and the Union Square Station with the 4, 5, 6, N, Q and R lines.

Apartment worked great for its purpose. Not roomy or luxurious in any sense of the words, but was suitable for a month. |

This apartment and the people operating it made my move to NYC very easy. It's hard to determine what to bring and where you want to finally settle in NYC if you are not already there. The flexibility of staying here made that transition easy. |
