Room for Rent 3 Bedroom apartment in Astoria, Queens (NY-8482)
3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms - Sleeps 1

These bedrooms for rent are located in Astoria, a diverse neighborhood in Queens, New York. The three bedroom, two-bathroom apartment share is on the third floor of a walk-up townhouse with a buzzer-intercom security system at the entrance. The 1500-ft² (140 sqm) unit has an east-west exposure and a balcony with potted plants that overlooks the calm, residential front street.  Smoking will be allowed on the balcony only, and Internet is available.

The air-conditioned apartment is lined with hardwood floors and a functional layout featuring several large windows that allow in the natural sunlight. The main entrance of the apartment opens onto a hallway with a storage closet. Toward the left are the kitchen and living area, both common spaces that you will share with your roommates. The 312ft² (29sqm) living area is furnished with three sofas that face a coffee table over an area rug, and a flat-screen TV with cable. The open kitchen has tiled floors and wooden cabinetry that provides ample space for food storage. It is equipped with white appliances, as well as cookery and crockery. Sit down at the dining table for two and enjoy your home-cooked meals. The shared bathroom is near the entrance and has a bathtub-shower with frosted sliding doors, a toilet, a vanity sink with a storage cupboard below, and a mirrored medicine cabinet. To the right of it are two bedrooms, one where the owner sleeps, and one room for rent. The second room for rent is located on the opposite end of the apartment, next to the living room. Both have in-built closets with shelves and TV’s with cable programming. However, the first bedroom contains a double bed, while the second has a queen-size bed.

Situated on 29th Street, between Astoria Boulevard and Newtown Avenue, the three bedroom apartment is just 1 block from the Astoria Boulevard / 31 Street subway station. It provides access to the local N train and the W express trains, allowing you a 15-minute commute to Manhattan. Astoria is a very nice, clean, and quiet neighborhood, with little townhouses all around. A launderette is conveniently located at the corner of 29th street. You will find grocery shops, supermarkets, and a lot of restaurants within close proximity. Try 718 on Ditmars Boulevard (0.8 miles / 1.29km), which has an eclectic menu and a tropical vibe. Another great option is Güllüoğlu (0.6 miles / 960 m), an amazing Turkish bakery and café—the baklava, kadayif, and böregi are delectable! Great bars in the area include Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden (0.4 miles / 640m), Sweet Afton (0.5 miles / 800m), and Café Bar Scorpio (1 mile / 1.6km). Visit the Noguchi Museum (1.2 miles / 1.9km) and the nearby Socrates Sculpture Park, an outdoor museum that’s located next to the East River. Aside from the cultural experience, you’ll get a lovely view of the NYC skyline!

The apartment looks exactly like the pictures provided, so you pretty much know what you're going to get. The owner is kind and considerate and makes you feel at home. I had a positive experience living here for four months and would come back again for the value, location, and rapport with the owner.

The best feature of the apartment is the position. It is in a safe neighborhood and is very close to the subway station. It takes about 20 minutes from the house to Manhattan by subway which is a very good commute.
The room is spacious and comfortable but you have to take care of it personally. The other parts of the apartment are accessible but are managed by the landlady.
The landlady is very friendly and gives you your privacy.
Overall, I'm satisfied with the room.

I had a really good time in the apartment. The landlady was so nice and helpful and I felt very welcome the whole time. She would always ask me if I'm okay and would listen when I was unhappy. The room was nice with a big bed and a TV. Astoria is very nice as well. It only took me 2 minutes to the subway station, 1 minute to my laundromat and 8 minutes to any supermarket. Within 30 minutes I reached Union Square, where my work place was.
I definitely recommend this place!

The roommate is very kind and caring, and also able to guide you well if you don't know your way around. She stays out of one's way and gives advance notices of any event that may affect one's stay eg when a potential tenant comes to view the apartment.

I stayed 3 months in this apartment and my experience was very good. The location is perfect, only 2 minutes from the N,Q train (15min from manhattan). My roomates were great and helpful. Also there is a place for laundry and a pizzeria very close to the house. In the house you can use the kitchen and organise without stress. There is also a big balcony where you can relax especially when the weather is warm.

Carmen is a great host! She is accommodating and friendly, and allows tenants as much privacy as they'd like. I felt very welcome and at home during my four months at this apartment.

I had a very comfortable stay in this apartment. It is very spacious, quiet and clean. It is located inside a dead end road so it is away from loud traffic.

The apartment location is ideal - one block from the N/Q trains that go into Midtown Manhattan, in less than 20 minutes.

There's also a wide variety of shopping and services. The neighborhood offers anything you need for day to day needs within walking distance. There is a grocery store one stop away, a great gym two stops away and an incredible Greek restaurant (BZ Grill) a block away.

I felt safe, warmly welcomed, and was very happy during my stay in this Astoria apartment. The main tenant, Carmen was a terrific roommate. She is a genuine, kind person and is constantly making sure the renters are happy. She was approachable, friendly, helpful, very hospitable and accommodating. She really wants the tenants have an excellent stay.

Carmen is a very good person and living with her is very easy and pleasant. Everything was stress free. Glad I spent my first time living in NY in such a positive environment. I really enjoyed the 5 months I spent there.

Five starts for the roommate.

I am highly recommend this roommate share apartment to anyone.

If you're looking for an apartment that is close to the city, quiet, and comfortable then this is the spot for you. Here, you are walking distance to many bars and restaurants in Astoria while being located in a safe area. I loved this neighborhood in Astoria and it made my transition to New York very smooth.

I can't say enough nice things about the landlord. She is very kind and genuinely cares about her tenants. The place was very clean during my stay and she goes out of her way to make sure it's always tidy. She is very respectful of your privacy and often times is busy working so it feels like you have the space to yourself. You will enjoy living with her.

This apartment is amazing for anyone needing a close, convenient commute to Manhattan. The location is also great as it is on a quiet, dead end street less than 2 blocks from the subway. There are tons of restaurants that are within walking and delivery distance 24/7, and there are plenty of shops and night life nearby (including Astoria's famous Bohemian Biergarten and Steinway street).

15 minutes away from Midtown on the N/Q line anytime day or night, which is hard to beat.

Carmen is the best roommate. She is very kind, always makes you feel at home, and is not intrusive. Your privacy is always respected. The common areas of the apartment are always spotless, and many times you'll find that you have the apartment to yourself whenever home since it is quiet.

The landlady is very kind and welcoming, yet hands-off = ideal. The apartment is in a great location, 3 minutes from the N/Q train - it takes less than 20 minutes to get to Midtown Manhattan.

The neighbourhood of Astoria itself is delightful, with a variety of shops and restaurants representing a range of ethnicities (Queens itself has more than 160 different ethnicities... awesome).

Ideal for people who like to hang out with friends at NYC's numerous venues instead of inviting people over.

I was very please with both Gregoire and Oriana as they were very pleasant, polite, friendly and neat while they were staying with me. They appreciated the way I treated them as a host as well, and felt very comfortable in my home.

I would be happy to accommodate them again in the future whenever they visit New York again and have a room available. Thanks for always providing me with great roommates.

This is a great spacious apartment! The convenience of having the apartment only one block away from the subway made my commute very easy. The neighborhood itself is great. You get more bang for you buck and it's full of great restaurants and bars.

The Owner is the best. She is very kind sociable and always keeps the common areas very clean. Now I understand why all her previous tenants keep in touch with her even after they moved out. I could not recommend this apartment enough.
