The owner is meticulous, honest, and very responsive to any questions or difficulties. This is probably the apartment's best feature. For example, the dishwasher went out 5 days after we moved in. She immediately replaced it new within 2 working days. She also quickly brought over a few things for the kitchen and the bedrooms that we requested.

The apartment is spacious and quiet. There is no traffic noise at all but yet you are walking distance to many monuments in the Marais as well as the Hotel de Ville. The 'Haut Marais', where the apartment is located, still retains the flavor of the Marais of 20 or 30 years ago.

The elevator is new and never went down 'en panne'. The building is in need of some refurbishment. I understand that this Fall substantial work is being done.

The apartment has everything one needs for a nice stay. The furnishings are average but adequate.

Dear Madam, Dear Sir,

Thank you for your positive comments that I received further to your stay in the apartment I rent out. I must say it is also nice to host careful and honest guests like you.

Regarding the building renovation works, it is indeed in progress. Some heavy works have already been completed: the elevator was installed less than two years ago and the roof was entirely redone. The staircase renovation is starting at the moment and the street facade restoration is planned next.

As for the furniture, I wanted it simple and rather modern so it would appeal a greater number of people; it's also a bit fragile because unfortunately, the renters are not always as careful as you were and we sometimes have unpleasant surprises.
