This 2-bedroom duplex apartment is located on the ground floor and first floor (considered 1st and 2nd floor by Americans) of a historic walk-up building dating from the 17th century in Place des Vosges area of Paris, found in the 4th arrondissement. The apartment has two entrances: an entrance gate with a coded security system off the Place de Vosges leads to a front door in the courtyard, and there is also a regular-key entrance on the Rue des Tournelles. The building was designed by Henry IV architect Claude Chastillon in 1605. The stairs and door in the apartment are original. Furthermore, the apartment has a southern exposure with 9 windows overlooking the garden.

The front door of the apartment leads to a classic entrance hall with tiles on the ground floor. The first bedroom can be found on this floor, and features two trundle beds, decorative paintings and a window overlooking the courtyard. A full bathroom is accessed through this bedroom, and includes a modern washbasin, WC and shower. In the hall, stairs with wrought railings lead up to the first floor. Immediately to your right you will find the tiled kitchen, which is fully equipped with an oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. There is also a table that seats three, where you can enjoy a home-cooked breakfast with a view of the courtyard. To the left of the upper hallway is the living room, furnished with a comfortable sofa, dining table and TV. Moreover, the two windows face south so the room gets much natural light. Next to the living room is the master bedroom (Bedroom 2) of the apartment. This room also has two windows with a view, as well as a flat-screen TV, desk a queen-sized bed. A second full bathroom can be found next to the master bedroom. The Place des Vosges is the oldest public square in Paris, found in the coveted Le Marais - Hôtel De Ville area. The two bedroom apartment is part of the beautiful 17th century townhouses that surround the square and feature red-brick arcades. Notable residents of the Place des Vosges over the years include Cardinal Richelieu, Madame de Sévigné and Victor Hugo, who lived right next door. This house is now a museum devoted to his memory. The square itself features lawns, fountains and beautiful trees to provide some shade. This secluded park is a great place for a summer picnic. The apartment is exceptionally situated between the Saint-Paul neighborhood and the bustling Bastille area in the Marais (only 15 meters away (50feet)), Paris. When you exit the apartment through the Rue des Tournelles door you face six restaurants, so you can have your pick of some of Paris’ best haute cuisine. Many more cafes and museums can be found nearby. Moreover, the famous antiques shops of Saint Paul are also close, as is the Seine River at just 750 meters (2500 feet) away from the apartment. Here you have an amazing view of the Île Saint-Louis and Île de la Cité, where you will also find the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral.

Travelling to other neighborhoods in Paris is easy as there are two metro stations nearby the apartment. Chemin Vert is just 350 meters away (1000 feet) and here you can catch the 8 line, and Bastille is about 450 meters away (1500 feet) and has access to the 1, 5 and 8 lines.
