Provence is located in Southern France in an area that extends from the Mediterranean coast to the foothills of the French Alps. Many people arrive in Provence via the area of Aix-en-Provence and Marseille. Aix-en-Provence is not nearly as large of a city as Marseille, but has more of a small city charm. Aix-en-Provence is known for its architectural highlights, art institutions and universities. Alpilles is a small mountain range that runs through the center of the Provence region. The mountains are a stark contrast to the plains of the Rhone Valley and are covered in scrubland, pine and oak forests and local flowers that make the area naturally beautiful. The area includes the famous artists' town, Saint-Remy-de-Provence as well as Arles.

The Luberon is a region of Provence that is part of the foothills of the French Alps. Located between the Durance and Calavon Rivers and stretching from the towns of Cavaillon to Manosque, Luberon has diverse landscapes. The Luberon area is a popular summer destination and is known for its small historic villages. The area is rich in architectural heritage, including medieval Roman ruins. Some of the towns in Luberon include Apt, Roussillion and Gordes.

The Camargue, is the delta of the Rhone River. It is a vast plain in Provence which forms a triangle from Arles in the north to the Mediterranean coast and Saintes Maries de la Mer in the south. Prairies, ponds, marshes, rivers and salt flats are seen throughout the landscape of the Camargue. The area has been protected by the creation of a regional park which extends over 86,000 hectares. This part of Provence's coastline extends over 60km and includes pristine sand beaches. Vacation Rentals can be found in Arles as well as a long beachside towns and villages.
