The bedroom was comfortable and clean, however there was mold on the shower curtain and seals. Shower head was broken. Nothing worked in the extremely worn out kitchen: no hot water, oven is out of order, only one defective hotplate. Besides, the landlady took 200 dollars from my deposit because the kitchen sink was cracked. No fire alarm in the bedroom.

Hello Camille,
Yes $ 200 was deducted because you or your mother cracked the kitchen sink as when it happened nobody else was in the apartment. Cost of replacement/repair was divided among all. Nobody complaint about mold and there is no mold anywhere.
One single day the hot water had to be shut off for 30 minutes to replace a broken part.
The other roommate sharing bath and kitchenette stayed very long and has no complaints. Regarding the oven; one will be there as of Sept 1 if not before.
As far as the smoke detector/carbonmonoxide detector etc, there is one on every floor, according to or above law you could not have a safer, cleaner, better maintained place to live!
Camille you even told me that that this was a very nice place , very reasonably priced and very clean.

I was pleasantly surprised by how big the room was. And the neighborhood is amazing ! It's close to so many subways and you can walk anywhere in less than 20 minutes.

It's a safe neighborhood too ! I was super happy with the kitchen and bathroom, and all that was there to use. And the landlady is super nice !

Clean and spacious room with a big bathroom. The apartment is located in a very good neighborhood with nearly all New York subway lines serving it, so it's very quick and convenient when you want to go to Manhattan.

I did not think I would get so lucky with an apartment in New York, for such a good price. The room was very large and had everything I needed. There was even a small garden and a washer/dryer room.

The apartment is in a brownstone in a very nice area of Brooklyn, a few blocks from restaurants and shops, near the excellent comedy clubs in Park Slope and about 40 minutes' walk from Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridge, what more could you ask for?

The landlady couldn't have been more helpful; she kept the place impeccably clean and was always willing to help.
