Accommodation Rental: 7 days

Our group of 6 (2 adults and 4 teenagers) stayed in the apartment for 7 days and 7 nights from July 2 to July 9, 2019.
The apartment is in keeping with the pictures, it is convenient and well-located, close to Prospect Park and the subway station.
Bedding was excellent, which was no small matter after walking and sightseeing all day.
Supermarkets are nearby, as for us, we loved Lincoln Market.
Lorna welcomed us very nicely and even beyond our expectations.
Commute to Manhattan is about 20 minutes with the Q line and wasn't a handicap to visit Manhattan.
We recommend this vacation rental. Thanks again Lorna.

This apartment is well located. You will find some stores and restaurants nearby. Prospect Park (a very pleasant and big park of Brooklyn) is within walking distance. Prospect Park subway station is 300 meters and well served by the Q line, which will quickly take you anywhere in Manhattan with only one change.
It is comfortable. The only drawback is the bathroom, which is a bit small. The apartment was clean (even if the kitchen trash can had not been cleaned). This is a pretty lively neighborhood at night, so it is a bit noisy but I guess this is the way it goes in New York City. We felt completely secure. We did not meet the landlady but we sent each other some emails and text messages. She answered our requests carefully and wondered if we had a pleasant stay. Our deposit was sent back without any issues. I especially recommend this vacation rental.

Thank you Dominique for your great review and I am pleased you were satisfied with the accommodations and it's location. Your valuable comments serves as a basis for improving the quality of our service for greater client satisfaction. However there are some conditions over which we have no control. Structural limitations prohibits changes for a larger bathroom and this ideal location also comes with the inescapable noise that comes from one of the busiest shopping district in this borough and is a part of a city that never sleeps.
Thank you for recommending our apt and we look forward to having you again. My best regards.

The kitchen and the living room were quite comfortable. The bathroom is a little too small, but very clean. Considering price and quality of the apartment, it's the ideal solution for short stays. The two only things that should be be changed are the mattress (too soft) and the quilt in the bedroom next to the living room (ripped). The landlord is helpful and very kind (when we arrived we found water and fruit).

Thank you for staying with us and for the great review and suggestions. I will take immediate steps to replace the mattress as this was one of the improvements
scheduled for this year. Though I was abroad during the time of your stay; I accept full responsibility for the damaged quilt that must have been an oversight on the part of my housekeeping staff. I apologize profusely; this should never have happened and I am sorry for any inconvenience.
Client satisfaction is of utmost importance and we rely on our clients invaluable comments to helps us improve the quality service we provide..

We spent 7 days in this apartment. Very warm welcome from the owners.
Pros: close to a metro station, very lively street (lots of stores), spacious apartment (rather small bathroom), and quiet neighborhood for NYC.
Only problem: almost no Wifi

Thank you Herve for your great review. I am so happy you and your family found the accommodations quite satisfactory. I am so sorry you had a problem with the wifi. We encourage all our clients to immediately notify us of any issues they may have so that they can be promptly addressed. Had i been aware i would have notified the cable company so they could resolve the problem immediately. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced.
Thanks again. Your comments are invaluable and we hope to serve you again in the future. Lorna

The apartment was a nightmare. It has carpeting in the bedrooms, the beds were uncomfortable and the kitchen utensils were full of dirt. The owner was very friendly but that does not save the discomfort of the apartment where we added a unexpected guest: a mouse.

Answer by: Accommodation Owner
Oct 20 2014

Thank you for your stay with us and we are sorry you were dissatisfied with the accommodations and for any inconvenience you may have experienced. Our goal is to provide the best quality service to our guests and so we take every complaint or suggestions seriously. Your comments are welcome for quality assurance purposes. I recognize that your dissatisfaction with the agency for relocating you after your initial booking set the tone for your entire vacation, which resulted in the preconceived fears and prejudices you expressed about the safety and cleanliness of our neighborhood even before your arrival. Though we extended ourselves to provide private transportation from the airport on your arrival to quelch those fears we are sorry you felt inconvenienced when we were unable to provide this service for the duration of your vacation. Newly installed hardwood floors are installed in the main areas but our bedrooms are carpeted for comfort and noise reduction to the other apt below. Some guests do not clean up behind themselves and so we make it our priority to thoroughly clean the entire apt including washing and disinfecting every utensil, crockery and pots and pans as best as we possibly can, by hand, before arrival and after guest departure. Our apts are exterminated quaterly, especially because there is a restaurant in our building and several other food service establishments, and subway stations nearby. We promptly called in the exterminator who secured all possible points of entry and set a baiting system throughout the apt. To date, there are no visible signs of insects or rodents.Though the vast majority of our wide client base have reported satisfactory service we continue to be deliberate in our efforts to improve the quality of our services to all our future guests.

Overall satisfied. The apartment is as described. It is well located and easily accessible even if you have to go up a fairly deformed staircase. Close to subway and all facilities: supermarket, laundry, baker's etc.... pity it's a bit noisy on the street side.

This aspect could be improved. Good bedding. Nice surroundings. The hosts are lovely, easy people, contactable and available despite their busy schedule.

It was really wonderful accommodating Emmanuelle and her family and we are truly happy that they were satisfied with their stay in our apt. We were happy to further assist by taking them back to the airport after such an enjoyable stay. We would love to have them back again.

We are located in the heart of one of the busiest shopping districts in Brooklyn and all our guests relish the convenience and accessibility to the neighborhood shops and transportation.

However, we are sorry that the downside is the noise generated by the traffic and unending activities New Yorkers so enjoy. We completed the floors in both the apts. this summer and hope to complete the renovations of the stairs as soon as possible.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for a great review and we look forward to seeing you again. Best regards.

The apartment location was quite good, near the subway and 20-30 minutes from Manhattan. It was in a shopping street, which was great to buy food.

As for the apartment itself, it was large. We were sorry there was no dishwasher. Besides, the dishware could be changed (a bit disparate).

The bedroom that looks over the street was a bit noisy but the other two were very quiet.

Thank you so much for choosing our apartment and we appreciated your stay with us, Marie-NoŽlle. We value your review and each comment forms the basis for improving the quality of our service to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.

The dishware will immediately be replaced; unfortunately, the noise factor is an element of NYC that comes with this prime location.

We are delighted you had an enjoyable and positive New York experience.

We found the apartment big enough and four persons can live easily; the kitchen is large and well equipped, although the cooking equipments, such as pots and pans, should be more numerous and better mixed.

The owners have been very kind and accurate. Unfortunately we have to say that the apartment was not so clean as we expected; the windows, especially the kitchen one, were particularly dirty, so the carpeting in the bed rooms as well. The sofa in the living is enough uncomfortable; the number of chairs should be higher.

The area of Brooklyn where the apartment is located, although very close to the wonderful botanic garden, Prospect Park and the interesting Brooklyn Museum, appears to be some degraded and not very enjoyable for walking and shopping as, on the contrary, other areas of Brooklyn itself are; certainly it has been just an unlikely isolated episode, but coming out at 10 p.m to leave the garbage bag and to see a young man pis...g at the tree in front of the house door, it is not exactly what you wish to see!

Considering the above we are convinced that the price requested, including the not very justifiable 26% NYH fee, is quite a few high.

Further to this review, we spoke with the owners who said they will have their cleaning crew make sure they do a more thorough cleaning between each and every rental.

The owners say that the sofa is not in bad condition right now and does not need to be changed. Utensils, glassware and cookware are supplied in the apartment for the amount of people the apartment is offered and with the necessary items to cook a small meal. New York Habitat has many apartments in this neighborhood and the price of these accommodations is appropriate in perspective with other rentals.

Every New York City neighborhood has a different feel and a different atmosphere. Please remember to research the area in which you are going to be staying.

The flat was great and conveniently located next to the train station. The owners were absolutely extra lovely. There was no air conditioning but they set it the day we left which is great. That would be great to have bedrooms with single beds instead of queen size bed as there was no couple in the group.

Our agent Christophe Pourquier was very patient and understanding.

Thank you for your great sense of service!
