This lovely one bedroom penthouse apartment is located in the South of France, right in the heart of the Marseille–Longchamp area of the Provence region. The rental is on the 6th and top floor of an elevator building from 2005, which has an intercom security system. During your stay at this apartment you’ll benefit from complimentary DSL internet access and basic phone service, as well as an in-unit washing machine and a private parking space (garage) with automated gate entrance. Please note that to secure this space, it must be agreed upon in advance.

The penthouse is lined with tiled floors and has several windows with a southwestern exposure that offer amazing views of the city and allow in the natural light. The main entrance of the apartment opens into a hallway with a built-in closet. At the end is an open living area, furnished with two single sofa beds that are very comfortable and can be placed together to create a double bed. There is also a coffee table, stereo, TV and DVD player. Two glass sliding doors open onto a beautiful 45-sqm private terrace, with potted plants and outdoor furniture. After a long day, it is the perfect spot to relax in, as you take in the views of the Marseille cityscape, the surrounding hills, and the Mediterranean Sea—specifically the Port and L’Estaque. You can also enjoy alfresco dining here and take advantage of the electric barbecue that’s available. If you prefer dining indoors, enjoy your home-cooked meals at the round table that seats four, which is next to the living space and a large built-in closet. The separate kitchen, fully equipped with all the major appliances and utensils, also conveniently opens onto the terrace. The bedroom is equipped with a storage closet and furnished with a double bed, nightstands, a dresser, and chairs. The bathroom includes a bathtub-shower, a vanity sink, and a large wall-mounted mirror. Additionally, there are shelves and a cabinet, which are practical for placing toiletries. The WC is in a separate room.

The one bedroom apartment is ideally located within close proximity of the Palais Longchamp on the Boulevard Longchamp. This historic palace is an importance landmark with an interesting story behind its construction. In the 19th century, with the streams providing an insufficient water supply to the city, bridge and road engineers constructed an aqueduct to bring water from the Durance River up to Marseille. The palace was then erected, by architect Henri Espérandieu to celebrate this accomplishment. A fountain was added to the top of the reservoir, which comprised a number of statues—an allegory of the Durance, with representations of vines and wheat. The building is home to the both the Natural History Museum and the Fine Arts Museum. Behind the palace, one of Marseille's finest public gardens is always open to the public. It’s a pleasant place to go for a walk and it’s family friendly too, as children can take pony rides! Although this rental is in the heart of Marseille, the area is quiet. The Vieux Port is nearby, and you can reach it by either by walking there directly or taking a 5-minute ride on the tram. The nearest station, Longchamp, runs on Line 1 and is about a 4-minute walk from the apartment. The Saint Charles station, also in the vicinity, runs on both Lines 1 and 2. Moreover, you’ll have easy access to major roads and highways heading in several directions—East to the French Riviera, Northeast to the southern Alps, West to the Cote Blue and Spain, and North to Lyon and Paris. You can also get to the City of Light in just 3-½ hrs by hopping on the high-speed train (TGV) at Gare Saint Charles! Alternatively, you can take the TGV to Nice, Cannes and the Alps.
