Named for the grandfather of Post-Impressionism, Paul Cézanne, this luxurious four-bedroom villa outside Aix en Provence takes its design cues from the modern art that the painter’s work inspired. With unique modernist furniture, sleeping space for the whole family, and a beautiful poolside terrace outside, this Provençal villa is a dream come true!
The Great Room
The heart of any home is its hearth. Gather around the sleek fireplace in the living room of this villa and you’ll find space for the whole family to come together and relax. Tasteful wooden and black cloth armchairs, a long contemporary-style sofa, and a faux fur rug beneath it all create a unique common area at the core of the villa. An enormous flat-screen TV provides entertainment.
The double-height ceilings add even more grandeur to the space, accented by light-toned exposed beams above the wooden dining table for eight. Plenty of natural light floods in through the wall-to-wall bay window facing the pool and terrace, which allows communication between the inside and outside of the house.
Far from the open hearths that were once used in preparing traditional Provençal cuisine, the cooking space in this rental is state-of-the-art! After entering through the doorway from the dining area, you’ll find a breakfast table with four chairs surrounded by an L-shaped counter space. The white of the cabinets contrasts with the warm natural-wood tones on the countertops, and it’s all complemented by the brushed aluminum and stainless steel appliances.
A full oven and a microwave are stacked one above the other to open up the possibilities for cooking. The stovetop is electric with a minimalist hood above for ventilation purposes. A window by the coffeemaker provides natural light. A blender, electric kettle, and toaster complete the appliance selection, so you’ll have no trouble finding the right tools for the job, no matter what you’re cooking!
With four bedrooms spread across its two floors, the Villa Cézanne has no shortage of sleeping options. Everyone can enjoy a perfect nights’ rest! Pictured above is the master bedroom on the ground floor, which comes furnished with a double bed, an en-suite bathroom, a closet, and a sliding door that gives access to the terrace outside. Bedroom 2 also offers a double bed, a natural wood wardrobe, and an en-suite bathroom. A third bedroom downstairs connects to a mini-terrace with two outdoor chairs.
The fourth bedroom upstairs offers two single beds that can be combined into a king-sized bed. This flexibility is perfect for families with kids, as well as larger groups! Other amenities in the upstairs bedroom include a dresser and a coat rack.
Salles d’eau and WCs
With one full bathroom, three French-style salles d’eau, and one separate toilet, this villa ensures there will never be a line for the bathroom during your stay! Bathroom 1 is downstairs and connected to one of the bedrooms. It offers a toilet, a tub with a handheld shower attachment, and a large mirror. Bathrooms 2 and 3 are located upstairs and are open to the villa’s exposed wooden rafters that contrast their gleaming white tubs. Bathroom 4 has a rainfall-style shower that opens to the rest of the bathroom and two sinks, making it perfect for couples! Bathroom 5 is a separate toilet, with a washer and dryer for your convenience.
Outside on the terrace
It isn’t just swanky interior amenities and creature comforts that make the Villa Cézanne a great choice for a stay in the South of France: the terrace and pool outside are stunning! A dining table for eight lets you enjoy your meals en plein air, soaking up the warm Provençal sun during the day or enjoying cool breezes in the evenings. Of course, the centerpiece is the pool, which has steps that lead down from the patio into the refreshing turquoise water. Get a tan or enjoy a nice book in the lounge chairs poolside.
