Enjoy a unique experience in this fully furnished rental apartment, located on the ground floor of an eighteenth century French mansion owned by the same family for six generations. This is the perfect space for a stay of any length, situated just outside the medieval walls of Aix en Provence, a vibrant city at the heart of the South of France. This studio apartment benefits from a mezzanine sleeping loft, giving you the best possible use of space.
The main room of this studio apartment is arranged for optimal comfort, with one large bed lofted above the rest of the space, accessible by a small staircase (with a railing) along the wall. Underneath is another bed, a double (140 cm wide), allowing up to 4 people in this convenient accommodation. Armchairs and a coffee table diversify the living space here, while a television provides entertainment options. There is also a washing machine in the kitchen for your convenience
The separate eat-in kitchen is fully equipped with necessary cooking amenities, including an electric cook surface, a microwave, a coffeemaker and a full-sized refrigerator and freezer. More dining space is provided in the main room, where three chairs sit around a small table. Light streams in through the French windows next to the wardrobe on the exterior wall, facing southward onto the mansion’s private gardens.
Rich in history and culture, Aix en Provence and the surrounding region have inspired artists from Hemingway to Cézanne. Take a stroll down the scenic Cours Mirabeau (800 m/10 min) and you’ll understand why. Take a stop at the Brasserie des Deux Garçons, one of their favorite hangouts and you can taste the sweetness of life in Provence. Many of the major sights in the old city are just a quick walk away, including the architecturally complex Cathedral of the Holy Savior (260m/3min), the world-renowned art of the Musée Granet (850m/11min), and the remarkable mansions of the Quartier Mazarin (1.2km/16min) just south of the old town.
Access to Aix from farther away is also easy, whether by the TGV high-speed train station (17km/21min), the Marseille Provence Airport (27km/26min), or the Autoroutes (highway), two of which meet right outside central Aix. There is parking lot located one block away at the Parking Pasteur, just outside the city gates.
