Comfortable one bedroom apartment in Aix en Provence Center - Boulevard Carnot

The apartment is located on the ground French floor of a quiet residence, between boulevard Carnot and rue des Breton.It can accommodate 2 adults (3 for less than a month rentals).

The layout is as follows :

Entering the apartment you will find a small entrance hall giving access to the bedroom and the bathroom to the right and to the open kitchen and living room straight ahead.

The living room is furnished with a double convertible sofa bed, a cupboard and a round dining table seating 4. It is equipped with a TV and a radio

There is a large French window opening onto a nice private terrace with plants and garden furniture.

The open kitchen is equipped with 2 electric burners, a multi fonction oven, an extractor, a sink and storage. It has most necessary cooking utensils.

Off the kitchen is a small space with storing cabinets, a fridge, a microwave oven and a small electric oven.

The bedroom is furnished with two single beds, bedside table, armchair, and a bookshelf. There are two windows, one opening onto a quiet street and the other giving access to the terrace. There is an en-suite dressing room with shelves and a wardrobe.

You access to the bathroom directly from the bedroom. It is equipped with a washbasin, a French bidet and a tub. There is a washing machine.

There is a separate WC.

A phone line is available as well as a DSL Internet access.

Outside : The residence has a small private garden to which tenants will have access.

Neighborhood :

The best advantage of the apartment is its central location. You will enjoy the peaceful life of the lovely city of Aix en Provence. All kinds of shops and restaurant are in the immediate vicinity. There is a second access to the residence than the Blvd Carnot offering a very quick access to the heart of Aix. You are just 2 minutes walk from the "Palais de Justice".

Aix en Provence in Bouches du Rhône district, is a very typical town with an historic center.

It is famous for it's landscapes (Cezanne) . The town is less than an hour drive from the Mediterranean Sea and the ' Parc Régional du Luberon'.

Aix en Provence is also famous for its summer festival (classical and lyric) and it is ideally located to discover the south east of France (including the southern Alps).

Access :

35 km from Marseilles, 65 km from Avignon.

You can get to Aix en Provence by road (motor way) or by train (TGV Train station in Aix) . You can also fly through Marseilles Provence Airport (25mn drive).

The owner was very welcoming and helpful and made herself available if we needed assistance. The apartment is well appointed with the exception of chipped china, a broken corkscrew, an uncomfortable sofa for watching TV and the bad odor from the stove rangehood that needs a new filter.

While the balcony is a delightful aspect of the apartment, the awning does not provide shelter from the afternoon and evening sun.

Overall we enjoyed our stay in the apartment.

We enjoyed staying at the apartment it was very comfortable and pleasant. The owner was most helpful he came to our rescue when we left the keys inside the flat by mistake.

Just one or two points you may want to consider improving. The plug for the kettle was dangerously close to the stove. And I would have preferred the layout different for toilet and bidet. That is it would have been better to have the bidet next to the toilet.

And the washing machine would have been better placed in the large cupboard near the main door. But I suppose these arrangements are a personal choice; however the kettle point and the cooker definitely need alteration in my opinion.

Further to your comments on my apartment, I would like to let you know that the apartment fixtures and fittings were not my choice. The company - a major property developer - that designed the plans received all the certificates of compliance from the state. We bought it off-plan and we could not make any changes.

I hope you kept nice memories of your stay.
