This fully furnished 4-bedroom duplex apartment is located in Stuyvesant Heights, a historic neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York. The apartment occupies the top floors of a 4-story brownstone equipped with an intercom/buzzer system.

This apartment features classic details such as decorative fireplaces, exposed brick walls and wooden window mouldings. Furnished with contemporary décor and renovated kitchens and bathrooms, this rental combines charming details with modern conveniences, such as air conditioning and wireless Internet access.

Each floor of this apartment has 2 bedrooms and a living room used as a sleeping area, a full kitchen and a full bathroom, making it ideal for larger groups. The front bedrooms on each level also have a dining area.

On the 3rd floor, the front room (Bedroom 1 in photos and floorplan) is furnished with a sofa bed with two single size mattresses and a television with cable. There is a bar area to eat at, looking into the kitchen, also limiting privacy. Next to this room is Living Room 1 (no windows), used as a sleeping area, with a set of single size bunk beds. Beyond this room in the rear of the apartment is Bedroom 2, furnished with a queen size bed. The full bathroom is accessible from both the main hallway and Bedroom 2.

On the 4th floor, the front room (Bedroom 3) is furnished with a double size bed and a long dining table which seat up to 8 persons. A door from this room opens into the fully equipped kitchen, which is also accessible from the main hallway. The next room (Living Room 2) has a double size bed with a closet for hanging clothes. Please note that this room does not have any windows. Through this room, you reach the back bedroom (Bedroom 4), furnished with a double size bed, double size sofa bed and a television. This accommodation is perfect for travelers on a budget.

There is a housekeeper who is available 24/7 who knows the neighborhood well and can help with any nuisance, issues or concerns.

This furnished apartment is located in a landmark brownstone in Stuyvesant Heights, the historical area of the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood in Brooklyn. Around the corner from the apartment, Lewis Avenue is lined with small cafes and local restaurants, such as Peaches, less than a block away, offering southern cuisine. There is also a supermarket just three blocks north, where you can buy food to prepare in the apartment.

Public transportation is particularly convenient with the A/C subway station just four blocks away, with both express and local trains to Manhattan, connecting you to the rest of New York City.

Very nice welcome from Chris, the apartment could do with some maintenance works, the kitchen equipment is to be reviewed a little, for an expert eye the cleaning is bit borderline.

Otherwise we had a very nice stay. The neighborhood is great.

Hi Gerard,

It would have been helpful to understand more in details the lacking of kitchen equipment and areas that would need renovation.

For example in the kitchen, there is a refrigerator, a gas oven and stove, a microwave, a coffee machine and all the basic cookware.

Our housekeeper (Chris) is already there to assist and provide (to the measure of reasonable) all that is needed.

The apartment is in dire need of some renovation. The neighborhood did NOT feel safe. There was LOUD music until 3:00 am the first night we were there. There were mice in the lower floor apartment. The shower in the lower floor had a window curtain on the inside of the shower that fell apart and we were brought another curtain to put up ourselves.

We just hung a sheet in the window. We had to use the SAME towels for 7 days. The washer and dryer did not work. The "jacuzzi" tub did not work. The upstairs apartment air conditioners were not working well and it was not cool enough. The downstairs apartment was cool enough but could not sleep in the middle bedroom because if you closed the door there was no air in the room. Had to put the twin mattresses in the living room.

There was one old little TV downstairs and one upstairs. It would have been nice to have more TVs. The stairs going up to each level were leaning and especially the higher floor stairs looked like they were going to fall off the wall. They were in VERY POOR condition.

The wall paper was peeling off the wall in the hallways. Several door frames leading into the apartment in the front and some inside doors looked like they had been broken down and just pieced back together.

Someone from New York Habitat needs to go inspect the apartment before renting it. It might be OK for a bunch of college kids but for the price we paid (almost 4000 for the week) it was horrible.

Apartment renovation was completed 2,5 years ago. The house is in the same block with the neighborhood school, resulting in extra security measures for the area. My house keeper is available 24/7 to assist with all kind of problems.

NY is well know to have this problem. Mice are hunting for food. If you leave an open window and have two days left over on the sink and garbage, it is like making an open party for the neighborhood. These things can happen but we work with technicians of all trades for quick repairs. Guest just have to notify us.

Yes, we provide towels only at the check in. We are not a hotel. Apartment is advertised without washer and dryer. Correct the jacuzzi is temporarily out of service, i apologize. In addition to the 4 window Air Condition units and 3 ceiling fans, we can provide additional portable fans upon request for better cold air circulation.

As per hotels standards, we provide one TV per apartment. Brownstones are properties that were built in the 1900s. Foundation settlement exist in 99% of them. Our house is part of one of the few landmarks blocks of New York. For different taste and culture than the high-tech minimalistic black & white hotels.

There is no wall paper, any where in the house. This comment is not clear the doors are just fine. Thank you.

We were worried when we arrived at JFK airport as the area we went through when we got near the vacation rental did not inspire confidence.
However, the streets nearby are quiet and we had no problem at all when traveling day and night, whether on foot or on the subway.

The neighborhood is quiet but the stairs and the doors creak and as the apartments have wooden floors, you hear everyone's move.

As regards to cleanliness, the accommodations were dusty and we shared them with at least 2 mice, not the least fearful. The previous guests must have not washed up the dishes properly. The household linens were clean and the bedding very clean and comfortable.

The bathrooms are adequate, we cleaned the tubs when we arrived. The toilets in the bathrooms are clean and there's all toilet paper you need. There's also plenty of hand and bath towels.The beds are very clean and comfortable. Comforters are supplied for all the beds.

The dishware wasn't very clean, I think the previous guests didn't wash up properly. No dishtowel was supplied.

We contacted the person who handed the keys over to us when we left the airport, he was waiting for us, had switched all the lights and TVs on, very friendly, he gave us the information we needed on the neighborhood and where to find what.

Upon check-out, we got our deposit back right away.

This was our first vacation rental in Brooklyn. We knew some apartments in Manhattan, they're much smaller and noisier but here we had more space. Pity it's half an hour away from Manhattan with the subway, but it's good value for the money.

I am very sorry to hear that there where some cleanliness issues. Our housekeeper is there 7 days per week and makes sure that guests are satisfied with their stay and takes care of any problems. Guests may simply report their concerns anytime during their stay and we will do our best to satisfy their requests whether it be a reloading of dish towels or general cleaning.

The secret with mice is not to leave food and water for them to feed. We always suggest our guests take their trash out to the street on the nights before the collection. Regarding the creaky noises in the house, we considered putting a carpet to improve the noise insulation but this will take all the charm of the hardwood floor.

As for the surrounding area, Bedford Stuyvesant is a historical neighborhood in Brooklyn, which offers convenience of travel and everyday living for our clients. We will work hard to make sure these concerns do not appear again.
