The apartment provides modern facilities such as DSL Internet connection (high-speed access), stereo system in the whole apartment, A/C, heated Jacuzzi - while exposed beams and the ancient tiles of the floors remind the authenticity of the place.
A stone staircase gives access to the second floor. The large living room has two east exposed windows. There are two sofas, a dining table seating 6, an Antique dresser with marbled top, and a large mirror.
The open kitchen has wooden countertops and many cabinets. There is a stove, four electric induction hotplates, a microwave, a coffee maker, a toaster, an electric water heater, a refrigerator / freezer and a dishwasher.

Upstairs, on the mezzanine is a study with an Antique writing desk and a computer with high-speed Internet access. On the other end of the mezzanine, by the staircase is a cozy lounge with a sofa, a cabled TV with DVD, VCR and a stereo system with CD player. There are 10 loudspeakers throughout the apartment!
The master bedroom is at the end of the hallway. It has a queen size bed and a French window leading to the south exposed terrace and the heated Jacuzzi of 110 centimeters depth. A teak table seating 6 is perfect for luncher or dinner alfresco.

The apartment is located one block from the main street of Avignon known as Rue de la République. The train station of Avignon center is 100 meters away. Restaurants, cafés and shops are everywhere. Avignon -also known as the Popes’ city- has a wealthy historical and artistic heritage. Its formidable stronghold Popes’ Palace overlooks the wide expanse of the Rhone River plain and the encircled city. If you want to see one of the most beautiful views of Avignon and its famous uncompleted bridge, you should go the island of Barthelasse. This large island formerly was a refuge for outlaws and deserters in the past centuries. The exceptional view over the city is best admired at sunset; many paintings and etchings have been made of it.
The closest expressway is the A9, exit Remoulins, 15 minutes drive away, or the A7 exit Avignon North or South. The A9 goes from the Spanish border to Orange. The A7 binds the Italian border to Lyon with connections for all major cities of the south east of France. Avignon train station is served by the TGV (Train Grande Vitesse) that goes to Paris in 2 hours and 40 minutes! The closest airport is in Avignon as well with 4 daily domestic flights from/to Paris. Most international connections are made through the international airports of Marseille-Marignane or Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
