This two bedroom apartment is in a exciting part of Harlem filled with lots of things to do. Here is a quick snapshot of local activity:
- Marcus Garvey Park: less than 2 blocks (200m) away, this park covers 4 city blocks and includes an outdoor swimming pool, a great escape from the heat in summer! Central Park is also a little over 1/2 a mile (950m) from the apartment.
- 125th Street: this thoroughfare is just 6 blocks (600m) north of the apartment, and is lined with stores and eateries. For example, you have Marshalls, H&M and Staples on 125th and Lenox,
- Sylvia's: the go-to for soul food in Harlem, this is a must-eat if you live in the area. However, you will also have to try Red Rooster, which does a more modern take on Southern fare, to have an informed opinion. Both are located on Lenox Avenue and 126th Street.
This is also a good location for commuters, as there are two subway lines nearby and the Metro-North trains for those who need to commute to the Hudson Valley. If you walk south three blocks to 116th Stret, there are two subway options:
- Lexington Avenue and 116th Street: about 4 blocks away (450m), this station serves the 6 train, which runs down the Upper East Side and makes local stops (as well as connecting with the express 4 and 5 trains). You can also go to 125th Street and Lexington (.4 mi/650m) ) for direct access to the express 4 and 5 trains.
- Lenox Avenue and 116th Street: though further from the apartment (1/2 a mile or 800m), this station gives access to the 2 and 3 express trains, which can be useful for commuting down the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
