The quaint Greenwich Village, with lots of shops and eateries and considered to be another focal point of the New York art scene, is only 1.3 miles (about 2 km) to the west. There is a grocery store at the end of the block to stock up on groceries, as well as plenty of shops nearby including convenience stores, shoe stores, bike shops, and other places that make life in the city easier to navigate and enjoy.
